I can't believe I've never read this story. I knew what it was about, and I've seen the Disney cartoon based on it, but today's the first time I actually read it. It's a truly beautiful #HolidayReads 😍 Such a wonderful reminder of what the Holiday spirit is all about.

El Regalo de los Reyes Magos | O. Henry

In PR like in other countries, we celebrate on January 6th the Three Wise Men Day o Día de Los 3 Reyes Magos.In my family the tradition was to put a box with grass under the bed the day before & gifts would appear next day under the bed & unwrapped.The best gifts were in this day as a way to keep the tradition but 3 kings should be humble. It was a day to be with family & eat traditional food which is high in calories?Also sing traditional songs.

Gissy @Avanders The story is that today the Three Kings gave some gifts to baby Jesus like gold incense and myrrh. In some family traditions, gifts are more modest because the The Three Kings are supposed to be humble and poor. But in my family as way to keep the tradition, I used to receive more gifts this day in comparison to Christmas and they were the best gifts ever. So today I'm doing what I like, reading📖🤓☕️that is my biggest gift! 📚❤️ 5y

tournevis In Québec and in Acadia, it's the last time extended family meets for one last feast. On Les Rois, we eat galette and whoever finds the bean or the clay figure or somesuch in their piece is the king/queen for the day. 5y
