Having somewhat of a reading block/slump don‘t want to continue reading the sun eater series. I can‘t find a book I want to read in this months tbr and nothing looks good right now 😨📖 hopefully this doesn‘t last long… trying this to see if it helps

The first in a series by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton, Riley Moon has landed her dream job after business and law school, working for one of the largest banks in the world. She‘s assigned an eccentric and very rich client (Emerson Knight) and the two of them discover a grand evil plan involving gold. Fast paced, fun and light reading. Riley & Emerson make a fun team. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

#weekendreading Thanks @Andrew65 ! It‘s fun to see what everyone is reading this weekend!
I am reading Curious Minds, which is the first in a series by Janet Evanovich. I wasn‘t going to read any more of her new series (she has many going) until she published another from one she‘s left hanging. But a friend lent this and the next one to me, so I want to get them back to her. So far, I‘m enjoying it. Fast and very light reading.

It‘s a Janet Evanovich month. This is the first book in the Knight & Moon series, borrowed from a friend. Reading this one now, because my #bookspin book is the next one on the series. ❤️📚

Not a horrible novel, but I just couldn't take this story seriously. Though I got a lot of laughs, the fast pace and unbelievable mystery solving skills of 2 ammeture sleuths was just too much for me to overcome. I finished it- so I didn't hate it, but not one that I would pick up again.

I‘ve finished an audiobook a day so far this week for my first #BoutOfBooks but am definitely behind on posting! I‘ve been working my way through some print books too, but have loved my audiobook selections!

Part One
Pick: I love almost every book written by Janet Evanovich. Curious Minds was no exception. As always, it is written with great humor and lovable characters.
Pan: I've already reviewed this. Idk why I read it. I got what I expected.

A new series for fans of Janet Evanovich's numerical series. I received a regular copy from bookcon and this ARC copy. I shared the regular copy in my Little Free Library and kept this one to read, I finally got to it after my 20 books of Summer Challenge. A bit Fantastical, improbable and over the top but, entertaining and funny in true Janet Evanovich form! If you've enjoyed her numerical series, you will enjoy this as well.
"Hey!" Riley whispered, tiptoeing after him. "Pssst! What are you doing? You can't just go wandering around somebody's yard"
"Of course I can," Emerson said. "Look at me. I'm doing it."

Ok, so I'm not sure what to expect in this new series. I really loved Lizzy and Diesel until last book (which I'm convinced I need to give it another shot) but this one sounded intriguing enough to push through my reluctance.

#TBRtemptation post 3! Finally out in my favorite paperback format, this is the first installment in the Knight and Moon series. Emerson Knight: brilliant, rich, handsome, eccentric. Riley Moon: aggressive Texan Harvard grad finance analyst. The two hint down missing bank funds and wind up also dealing with a missing man, missing gold, and a life-&-death chase in DC. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

I already found this book to be likable, but that it just acknowledged that Conroy is the best Batman would have sold me on it, honestly. 🦇 #curiousminds #janetevanovich #phoefsutton #batman #btas #kevinconroy

Emerson is cracking me up; he reminds me a lot of Cumberbatch's Sherlock, mixed with someone else I haven't quite decided on yet. #curiousminds #janetevanovich #phoefsutton

About halfway through, and as expected, it's hilarious, quickly-paced, and the perfect read for a summer afternoon on the back porch...with a little bowl of tortellini salad for lunch. 😉 #curiousminds #janetevanovich #phoefsutton #booksandlunch

I love every Janet Evanovich-penned series I've read; super-excited to start a new one! #curiousminds #janetevanovich #phoefsutton #knightandmoon

Janet Evanovich is by far one of my favorite authors I have read countless books and many can make me smile but few can make me truly laugh and I have never read one of her books that I do not laugh all throughout reading it I throughly enjoyed this book the character Emerson Knight especially read it and you will see why 😉

I really liked this story. I appreciated the entire plot line. It had you twisting and turning and Emerson was an awesome character. However, in the beginning Riley annoyed the crap out of me. She was whiny all the time. She did grow on me though. I also appreciate the ending very much. All in all it is a decent read.

Light, silly fun read. Ok book not to be taken seriously. Good option if you want to read something light.

This one was a gift. Looking forward to getting started!

Lorelei King is amazing as always, and the story isn't bad, I'm just not as invested in this one as I am some of Evanovich's other series'.

I really liked this book! It was fun, quirky, quick. True Evanovich fashion. This one did leave me wanting a little more due to how much I love all her other series, but this is a debut novel for this particular series so keeping an open mind :) also pictured above is my favorite coffee shop in Stillwater, MN :)
A Curious Brew

First in the Knight and Moon series, compared to other Evanovich novels, this was okay. I prefer the Stephanie Plum series more. However, this novel has enjoyable moments. Humor, action, quirky characters. I'd be interested to see how this series progresses.

"You had a strange childhood."
"Everyone's childhood is strange. It prepares you for the strangeness of adulthood."

Conference break means getting a few more pages read...
This book was fun and reminded me of the style of the Stephanie Plum books. I enjoyed it

Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series is a guilty pleasure. This new series doesn't measure up. I'm not sure if it's just the writing, the reader, or a combination. It just didn't have the chemistry. I expected to like the eccentric Emerson Knight, but just found him tedious. Too, one more "crap on a cracker" out of Riley Moon might have incited violence out of me (not really, of course).
At least I got some good knitting done.

Not a fave of mine but still enjoyable. I am curious how the authors will further flesh out the characters

"One morning, he left for work, with his to-go cup of coffee and his briefcase, and he simply never returned." "You don't seem especially worried," Emerson said. "I drink a lot," Irene said. "And I smoke dope. It keeps me more or less happy." [I'm not particularly enjoying this book (a new series); but this section at the end of disc 1 cracked me up.]
I tried , but I just couldn't get into the story. Sorry Janet !

What else does one do when they can't sleep? Read of course. 😂

I'm a big Evanovich fan but this was just not good. It had none of the humor of the Plum books. I didn't laugh once while reading it. The male character is annoying. The female character is a stereotype. There are things that appear to have happened and later you find out they did not. But it is never explained as to what did happen. It's treated like the first part was never mentioned. I'm very disappointed.
That's two disappointing Evanovitch books in a row - and for the same sort of reasons: two dimensional characters that I didn't care about and a plot that felt both familiar and too far fetched. Disappointing.

I'm sorry to say that this was a disappointment. I love the whimsy and humor of Evanovich's numbered books as well as the O'Hare and Fox series and Lizzy and Diesel books, but those features are missing here. I suggest skipping this one (and the series, if it becomes one) and sticking to the others for a more enjoyable light read.

This was a lot fun, as all of her books are for me. Sometimes I think she's trying too hard not to swear (just say sh!t, already!!), but that's a minor thing. A great book for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This was due at the library yesterday and can't be renewed, so I guess I'd better get stuck in! Also, v glad for coffee this morning. Feels like a slug kind of day.

My photo with Janet Evanovich at Killer Nashville only got three likes on Instagram, but one of them was from her - so this photo is now more amazing than ones with hundreds of likes.

4.5 out of 5 stars
Those familiar with Evanovich's style will quickly find themselves feeling at home with these new characters and their brilliant dynamic. "Curious Minds" is full of mystery, intrigue, action, and laugh out loud humor. Its fast pace and exciting storyline makes it hard to put down and a breeze to tear through. I loved watching these new characters develop and seeing where the authors took them on their adventure. #NetGalleyReads
Wacky and zany story of Riley and Emerson who both have potential as lead characters but this entire book is lacking substance. May be enjoyable for fans of cozy mysteries. Full review on www.novelgossip.com

Cotton candy. Brain rot. Trying very hard to be witty but missing. People get the "bejeepers" scared out of them. They step in "doody" and a thirty year old man will "poop his pants" .....

"You wouldn't like me when I'm irritable." Oh the fun! This book is hysterical. So glad I chose it.

I loved the Stephanie Plum series. Let's see how this goes.

f you ever wanted to read a book where Sheldon Cooper was the big sexy and Penny was Penny (but with more education) then you have found that book.
