A close friend and I work together and on tough days, we will read to each other on a zoom call. Her selections are usually from #aliceinwonderland and I will read to her from this gem. So, go forth, my friends. Be brash and fiendly. #askbabayaga #mustbetuesday

1. This was an unexpectedly charming read and had some really decent advice.
2. I usually go back to childhood faves, Tamora Pierce, Brian Jacques, Patricia C Wrede.
3. This app and this community. You are all wonderful people and I‘ve never felt out of place here.

From her house on chicken legs, Baba Yaga offers some sage advice for modern problems.
I was expecting this to be a little silly, a little funny. I wasn‘t expecting to get sucker punched with painful questions that I could have written myself, and answers that were poetic and deep and actually helpful.
The odd punctuation thrown in took some getting used to. But there were some amazing illustrations and the advice was good. πππππ

My mom sent this to me as an early birthday gift and I read the entire thing in one sitting. My absolute favorite thing is when whimsy and profoundness intersect, and that‘s exactly what the advice in this book does. I adore it.
This was a delightful non-fiction book that is a compilation of problems/questions that were sent to The Hairpin. The author provided answers to the issues from the perspective of Baba Yaga. Absolutely enjoyable and the illustrations are gorgeous in black, white, and red.

Spending the end of the #24in48 readathon with Ask Baba Yaga and I keep flipping forward to admire the illustrations.
I love this book of advice from Baba Yaga. It feels magical and witchy while dispensing sage advice, and the art is fantastic! β₯οΈ #crone #witchyreads
βYou must know every contour of yr emptiness before you can know whom you wish to invite in.β
A quirky, funny advice book that, with it's concise yet poetic language, reaches through to the core of important life questions and forces you to examine your own heart, mind, and feelings. The rich imagery provides a backdrop to rethink your issues and see them from a new angle. I also love the styling of the book, and it's lovely illustrations.
One of my favorite things to do is to stroll through the library looking at books, especially the "new books" shelves. How else would I have found this awesome little book?
The cover immediate drew me in - I love the design! Also, I studied Russian in college and Baba Yaga was always a fascinating tale. I can't wait to see what gems of advice she has to dispense. ?

A good friend at work is recently engaged and has run into this letter writer several times. This gave both of us a giggle.
Today is a great day to knock a few books off my #NetgalleyTBR
