It was alright.
I was really looking forward to read the tales of an author who inspired so many of my favorite directors and writers, but it was a bit of a let down.

#SavvySettings Day 13: Not just #OuterSpace but probably other worlds, too, in this massive collection I cannot wait to dig into. 💕💕💕
There‘s some good stories in here (At the Mountains of Madness is a personal favorite). But this is largely a mixed bag. So many stories are either complete misses or largely forgettable.
Day 1 #AwesomeApril #Readathon
Only thirty minutes of reading done yesterday. New neighbors were having a party last night. The noise was too distracting so I just went to sleep instead of staying up to read. I started The Dreams in the Witch House in the Lovecraft collection.
One story is interesting enough but all of them together are sameish and mindnumbingly tedious.
Finished this up with the novellas Mountains of Madness, Shadow over Innsmouth, and Shadow out of Time - all very poor. Their major topics (the grotesque sublime, miscegenation as obscene, the horror of being an inferior race, etc.) are pretty foul and were covered much better in the less bloated short stories.
I use this table for writing in bed, but it looks like it‘ll be handy to help me read my heavier books.
#horror pointers from a legend. Good to know, and very true.
Because I‘ve finished two books yesterday and today, I‘m bringing two new ones in to replace them. This might take a while.
This podcast is full of classic audiobooks. You can also join and support it and get access to more. BJ Harrison is my favorite narrator for classics.

HP Lovecraft - Arguably One Of the Greatest writers of the Cosmic Horror Genre.
Yet One Of the Most Overlooked writers of all time.
I found this for only $16 at Book Depository today ❤️❤️❤️
I bought that thing & it's starting to freak me out.
"I couldn't live a week without a private library - indeed, I'd part with all my furniture and squat and sleep on the floor before I'd let go of the 1500 or so books I possess.” H. P. Lovecraft
#icecreamforbooks Day 5: "I scream, You scream, We all scream" - Horror ? My first thought for this topic was to grab a Stephen King book, but I decided to go with an author who is somewhat lesser known. Actually, King has cited Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos as inspiration in some of his works. Another great writer influenced by Lovecraft's work is Peter Clines. If you like sci-fi and horror, I recommend you check out his books "14" and "The Fold"!
Good English books are hard to find here in Mexico City, so this one is a treasure! 😍❤
I like to read a couple short stories in between novels. I started reading the Lovecraft collection on Kindle as a #PalateCleanser in between my Kindle books. #FeistyFeb @RealLifeReading
#ereader I prefer actual books and was hesitant about getting a Kindle at first. Eventually I got a Paperwhite and I love it. It's great for reading in bed at night and doesn't hurt my face if I fall asleep and drop it.

So many beautiful books, so little money 😢 Christmas is coming!!!!! 😂😂😂
. . . and on and on and on . . . Just because they're available and/or free doesn't mean I have to download all of them. 🙄 #booknerdproblems 🙄😞😳😱 And why am I keeping photos I've posted?
This will be an interesting read
carved a cthulu pumpkin! my favorite creature!
@Books,Tea,AndBookishThings My favorite reading spot is the back corner of the pool at the private club that I thought was too exclusive to let me in. Now that I'm in, I'd much rather just enjoy the weather and read than actually engage in social networking with the elite around me. #mystery
3 giveaways. Post a picture of your favourite reading spot/book nook/library and tag me and put #Horror for the HP Lovecraft collection with two bookmarks and antiquated first page of The Raven. I have to make room on my shelves so giving away duplicates to Litsy users. Winner chosen June 13th.
This book took me some time to read and I put it down a few times for a couple of weeks and would pick it up again. I did enjoy it just very long.
