It has been a very long week & I have a long day of schoolwork tomorrow before my 6 day work week starts on Sunday. Tonight it‘s time to relax for a couple of hours...
After a very long week of work and school, and 2 heavy lifting days plus a core and cardio day, I‘m indulging in some self-care by way of a book and bath (my wonderful hubby is taking care of dinner). I‘ll be participating in #anywayyoureadathon peripherally as I have to get some grad school work done tomorrow and I have to work a full day Sunday. Stupid adulting... #BFC21

Have a great day! 🤗🤗

[Just finished this. Book #5 from the Bakeshop Mystery Cozy Series. Another keeper. A good murder mystery is very calming if you ask me. :)]
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

A chocolatier dies in suspicious fashion right as the Oregon Chocolate Festival is kicking off. The ladies of bake shop Torte have to navigate running their booth at the fest and trying to help the police figure out what happened. I read this to my mom over voice memo and we both enjoyed it! It‘s a light, fluffy confection.

The whole thing was very well-plotted and written. The pages were literally flying.

I love this cozy series so much and this one was just as great... even though it made me want chocolate like nobody‘s business!!
My little guy is sick, I barely slept all night. A bunch of the kids in my MOMS Club are sick. 'Tis the Season 🙃 but I don't mind all the extra reading time!
This series has quickly become one of my favorites. I loved getting to see more of the relationship between Jules and her mom. I can't wait to see that the next book has in store for me!
Juno's not a big fan of thunderstorms so she's tucked herself between the corner of the coffee table and couch. There was similar weather in another great cozy by Ellie. So curious to find out who Jules ends up with. #dogsoflitsy #ilovecozies
"Rain pounded on the rooftop and spattered on the large bay window..." Same here Jules, same here. ???
"At the moment, I had to get back to my chocolate." I understand foodie characters on a spiritual level. #julescapshaw #bakeshopmysteries #elliealexander
Another great addition to this cozy mystery series! I look forward to these books and this one didn't disappoint. It sure did leave me craving chocolate though!
The fifth book in the Bakeshop Mystery series set in Ashland Oregon. It's Chocolate Festival time & Torte Bakery is ready to represent when a famous chocolatier has a fatal allergic reaction after trying Jules's chocolate cake sample. Plenty of twists, turns, yummy food & fun in this enjoyable & entertaining cozy mystery. Paired w/homemade Chocolate Truffles & a tropical Mango Chai Latte for my book tour blog review. Link to review/recipes👇🏼📚🍴
Day9 #readjanuary #readingequipment My reading equipment type/amount varies based on what/when/where I'm reading but here's a 'settle in' read & what may end up on the bed/couch tray. I'm a moody reader so a few books & my Kindle, my tablet & earbuds for audio books/books w/pics, notebook, pen & tabs especially if reading for a blog review/food pairing, beverage (coffee AM/tea PM), & maybe some chocolate(they're making truffles in this chapter)!😆
My evening: The 2009 BBC 'Emma' because I realized from a Litsy post a while back (I forgot who posted/commented about it) that I somehow missed this adaptation w/Jonny Lee Miller as George Knightly. An ARC of the 5th book of the Bakeshop Mystery series for review, honeybush rooibos tea & holiday cookie leftovers-hazelnut pirouettes, mac-nut shortbread & a Lindt truffle because when a cozy mystery is set at a chocolate festival, you want some!🍫❤️
