THIS BOOK. WOW. I initially picked it up because the cover is pretty and I'm a sucker for pretty covers. But man oh man this book has really amazed me. Apparently I like space opera! Check it out if it strikes your fancy.

**when all of your requests at the library come in at once** This wasn't even all of them. I turned around after taking this picture and found 9 more books on my window sill.
In other news I finished Empire of Storms (WEEPING) and needed another high fantasy and stumbled upon Falling Kingdoms. GUYS. I have been massively missing out. Falling Kingdoms is STELLAR. I live on the west coat & we are prepping for a massive storm so much reading. CHEERS

Six of Crows | Leigh Bardugo

Finally getting the chance to read Six of Crows. I haven't really been able to get into. I don't know what it is but I've just not really clicked with the book. So I'm trying real hard this time because I know so many people love it!

Foxyfictionista It's frustrating when you don't connect with a book that other people love. It's been happening to me lately. I guess it just shows how personal the reading experience is. It's ok to move on if you're not feeling it. 8y
MarriedtoMrT I picked it up once before and it didn't immediately grab me. I just checked it out from the library to try again. We'll see if second time's the charm. 8y
wanderlust_lit @Foxyfictionista @MarriedtoMrT I feel rather obligated because I purchased the book a long time ago and bc I really loved her other series! This one has been tough for me but now that I'm in the middle of it I'm liking it okay. It's not my favourite book in all the world but it's okay!! 8y

The littlest snippet of my to-be-read pile. Currently drowning under all the books I want/need to read. There's so little time and so many books and I don't know what to do with myself.

Been kind of AWOL for the last week or so. I'm just finishing up a two and a half week trip in China! Internet connection has been shoddy and I was pretty sick for a lot of it.
But huzzah🎉 I go home tomorrow and I found a Starbucks very close to my hotel. In the mean time I've been reading up a storm and finally digging into all of Rick Riordan's books since I stopped after the Percy Jackson series which is such a shame. Happy Tuesday from 🇨🇳

I'm currently in China with a nasty cold with no access to cough drops so I'm eating Icebreakers like its my job and re-reading Eragon because this was my introduction to fantasy and I love it dearly. People always seem to knock on Eragon and say it's only a replica of what's been done before but I don't think so. And no matter what I'll always love it!

451Degrees Feel better!!😔 8y
annahenke I also really like this series! 8y

Reading and watching and drinking. I've had my eye on this book for ages and finally got to take it home. A little bit more "out there" than I'm used to but I never back down from a challenge or a chance to think outside the box. Plus this sounds mighty interesting.

Today's obsession is this giant beauty. I'm only about an 1/8 of the way into this book but I immediately ran out and bought the next one because I am HOOKED. Friends. Family. Humans everywhere. Grab yourself a coffee and this book and thank me later.

Tcip For sure a great book. Unfortunately I feel like BS might be writing himself into a corner with Words of Radiance. Of the two I preferred this by far. I'm excited to see what happens with the next installment but at the same time I am hesitant to call it a top 10. As a book by itself i would call it a top 5 but the series worries me. 8y
wanderlust_lit @Tcip Interesting! I haven't gotten very far into this series yet so haven't been able to feel like that. I found this series far more readable than Mistborn. I'm not quite sure why. I hope he can make this series work because I like it so much so far! Although I do get impatient having to wait so long in between books! 8y
Tcip I'm not trying to knock the books at all they are really good and admittedly I haven't read anything else my Sanderson. It's just a foreshadowing feeling I get. 8y
wanderlust_lit @Tcip I totally get it! I have get that same apprehension in other series I've read. I look forward to seeing how this plays out. I hope he doesn't tank it! 8y

MrBook Nice! I have this one queued up on Audible 😊. 8y
wanderlust_lit @MrBook I've seen that you listen to a lot via audiobook. I love audio books for fiction books but haven't quite done any non fiction audiobooks yet. Are they good? Worth it? 8y
MrBook Oh yes! I listen to it all, but I prefer thick non-fiction books on audio. I think a lot of it has to do with the narration. Usually, non-fiction narrators are really darn good at taking any dryness out of the books, ya know? Granted, you can't see the pictures and charts and what-not, but I can always get the physical copy at some point. Plus, I'm the type of person who needs my brain constantly stimulated. Podcasts & audiobooks do the trick 😊. 8y

I never used to be a reader of anything but fiction. But let me tell you I read Hamilton and then it's just open the door for so many other books! Foundation is absolutely exquisite. Rich and full of so much history. I just can't get enough! Plus it's a series so there's more books! Yippee! #England #History #nonfiction

I know it's supposedly "terrible" but I often judge books by their cover before knowing what they're about. If the cover isn't selling it for me I probably won't pick up the book. This cover drew me in instantly and I'm already in love with this beautiful story.
