Unfortunate events continues😞 but this book is more about over coming fears. I like the part about rational and irrational fears. And learnt good grammar lessons 😂#seriesread2022

The adults are still frustrating, but I know that‘s the point of them. This book really shows how smart the Baudelaire‘s are because they had to figure out a lot. Finally, Aunt Josephine is so afraid of things that it‘s truly her undoing.

Reading this one today! Honestly I think I‘ll finish this one and start the fourth today since they‘re short. Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Day 9 - #Fear

Aunt Josephine has a lot of irrational fears 😂

The Wide Window really displays how smart these kids are. There was a lot they had to figure out and then prove. I have to say, I don't know why Mr. Poe doesn't just believe them when they tell him something. It's so frustrating.

Reading Pet cemetery and on the third book of the aeries of unfortunate events. I love this one.

12.29.19: I don‘t know who let a banker be in charge of children‘s welfare. These three are taking care of themselves and trying to escape a terrible man at every turn. On to book four!

12.7.19: Starting this one in the parent pick-up line

This has been our favorite Lemony Snicket so far. After escaping count Olaf for a second time the children go to live with Aunt Josephine. Aunt Josephine‘s obsession grammar and fear of everything made both of us laugh out loud. The children seem to grow more clever with each novel and Count Olaf‘s disguises hilariously elaborate. On to book 4. Fun one to listen to on our road trip.

I started reading the A Series of Unfortunate Events series recently and now that I am far enough in to be able to watch the movie, we are making Cheer Up Cheeseburgers for dinner. And apparently lemon bars because that's what my husband thinks of when he hears "Lemony Snicket" ?

I'm only on book 3 but I'm pretty sure this series could have also been called What Happens When Grown Ups Don't STFU

Another amazing installment isn‘t this series of very unfortunate events for three orphans who are just trying to find a new home.

Count Olaf just seems to always be waiting around every corner, and he is determined to get that fortune.

In this particular book, they are sent to live with their aunt, who is scared of, well, everything. Loved her character!

I‘m ready for part four!

I liked this one. Starting to want to slap Mr. Poe, he may be a worse badguy than Count Olaf.

This is a series I always wanted to read, but never did. I'm glad I waited though because my local library has them on audiobook read by Tim Curry (original Pennywise) 😱❤ I love hearing him read these; it's so much fun and they've been making my work day go by fast. I particularly liked this one with Aunt Josephine and her fear of everything. I want to finish them all and try out the Netflix series. Anyone watched it yet?

Really loved this one, these books just keep getting better and better. Aunt Josephine was both insufferable and loveable in equal measure, but I think Dr. Montgomery Montgomery is still my favourite (so far)!

"Well, maybe the peg leg was false," Count Olaf admitted, and took a step backwards. "But I've never seen this tattoo in my life."

There's some seriously great quotes in these books ? this one, along with "Come along, little idiots" are my fave!

Mr. Poe was kindhearted, but it is not enough in this world to be kindhearted, particularly if you are responsible for keeping children out of danger.

A delight to revisit! I like the changes the Netflix series made but the book is always better 😊

Lemony Snicket has the best advice. It's good I originally read this before I had a cat allergy as I'm sure I would have put a cat in my mouth, otherwise.

Starting late but going to give #junebookbugs a try... these are my most anticipated reads for June - I've been rereading A Series of Unfortunate Events after watching the Netflix series and am halfway through the books Season 1 was based on. Then I have 4 books from my TBR - I'm trying to get through 4 TBR books a month as a form of my own #ReadMyOwnDamnBooks challenge that @estellasrevenge created. We'll see how many I get through!

Taking a break from my current read to breeze through some terrible events! Rereading books 1-4 as prep for a binge ASOUE Netflix session.

Traveling for work on the train. I always love taking the train because the ambiance is just perfect for reading!

My husband and I are house-hunting, and it is crushing my reading life!! ? Started this on audio for a mini escape; little did I know it would also have practical advice: "Realtors, as I'm sure you know, are people who assist in the buying and selling of houses. Besides occasionally wearing an ugly yellow coat, the worst a realtor can do to you is show you a house that you find ugly, and so it is completely irrational to be terrified of them." ?

It was refreshing to see the Baudelaire have a guardian they wouldn't be content with, added yet more melancholy to most unfortunate proceedings

This book in particular gave me a love-hate relationship with Aunt Josephine. I loved her for trying to outsmart Olaf and for her coded message in plain sight, but I hated her for her cowardice and lack of conviction for what is right. I regret her demise, but I also don't at the same time.
