Yes, that is a retired mob boss losing it over how cute his dog looks in its new sweater in the top panel, and kicking his feet up in the impromptu photoshoot in the bottom left panel. 😍

The art in this one is GORGEOUS and is definitely carrying it for me. The story is very much a love story and is just okay for me for now. It's only 10 vols (or 5 omnis) long so definitely doable still.

xicanti Mori‘s art is great! It‘s even more impressive in A BRIDE‘S STORY. And oh, how she loves her nudes, though I don‘t think she trots them out until a few vols into this series. 9h
CoveredInRust @xicanti A Bride's Story is absolutely on my list to check out! And I've heard about that particular fascination 🤣 This was the first 2 and I just finished. They haven't shown up yet. 9h

Jinwoo can be kinda dark, huh?

I'm interested where this is going, and wondering if Jinho is going to be a recurring character. My guess is yes.

The bad thing about manhwa is how quickly I tear through them... now I need the next volume!

This one was tense and devastating.
I knew Philomela didn't have a great childhood from the past volumes, but I couldn't have imagined all this, and for her story to be laid out this way was heart wrenching.

But OMG.... Chise!! Just when you think you know her, she does something so surprising that I could never have imagined it ever!! Just shooketh!!!!

Recent home library acquisition:

📖 Requiem of the Rose King vol. 1 by Aya Kanno

I've never read manga but I found this retelling of the Wars of the Roses in a little free library and had to grab it.

The wacky shenanigans with the history/threat but not the reality of violence, more absurd parody of it, continues.
The highlight for me this volume were the chapters focusing on the sweetest father-in-law ever.
The dessert competition with social media engagement stakes is runner up.
I'm noticing some traditional gender norm judgements on display, but its limited to antagonists spouting such nonsense, and unorthodox-ly contested by our 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 unsettling hero.
Though for as many women as there are appreciating Tatsu's accomplishments in the domestic sphere, I do wish more males than Masa were also willing to follow in his footsteps.
Perhaps too lofty a goal for such a comic series, still glad for the simple reversal of older standards, having Miku be the career woman, in the breadwinning role.
On to the next volume!
