Locust Lane: A Novel | Stephen Amidon
Pickpick

The book hooked me from the start and it grew in suspense the further it went. When a young woman, who isn‘t a local in a small upper class community,is found murdered in her uncles home, the police have their work cut out for them.

Told from multiple POVs with well developed characters. This is a slow burner suspense book you will have a hard time putting down.

WOW! This is a book that I will remember years from now.
Beautiful and compassionately written filled with multiple layers, as the MC struggles with a heart rendering choice to leave her perfect life and family or to choose a different path that might not be so perfect. 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

thought this was very similar to Gone Girl and I assumed I knew how the twist would play out.

It kept me eagerly waiting to find out if my suspicions were correct and they were confirmed, yet then they got blown to smithereens again and then again!!

That‘s how you end a great psychological thriller! Brilliant! Top 5 books of 2021!!

If you like tough grimy mysteries this is for you! Very strong character development. Small town girl who wants to get out but happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time!
It was a super fast read and the ending was a a mind blowing shocker! 4⭐️

This was a fun read about gossipy nosey neighbors. It was a mid to fast paced suspense read for me and the characters were developed well! Read this if you love a domestic drama and may wonder what secrets your neighbors are keeping hidden from you! 3 ⭐️

Ok don‘t crucify me for not giving this 5 stars. I thought the plot and the storyline was great. Two dads playing vigilantes for their two gay sons that was murdered.
My problem was I just couldn‘t connect with how it was written. The word “said” was so overused, I had to stop reading many times because that‘s all I could concentrate on.

I still recommend you give it a go.

Hollie And so many smilies. Every other sentence it seemed had a simile. 3y

I loved this book, and I thought I had the ending figured out. But nope I was wrong. Filled with twists that kept me on my edge of my seat. Plus, apparently in Canada there is a Highway of Death, that many women go missing or murdered! #thriller

This was the perfect read before the start of the Summer Olympics! If you love gymnastics as much as I do then this is a must read. This was a fictional novel, however it did resemble what closely happened in the real life US gymnastics. It also portrays just how much Elite athletes struggle with on a daily basis just to make it to the Olympics. There is no time to being a kid when you are an elite. Is it worth it?

Hollows Edge is a peaceful private community where the neighbors are all friends. That was until a couple on the street was killed by CO. The police arrested Ruby for the murder over a year ago. Well she is back. What are Ruby‘s motives for even wanting to go back to a place where everyone pointed to her as the killer.

With multiple twists and turns this was a great thriller that delves into paranoia. A highly recommended.

This book completely and totally resonated with me, as I, like the author, wore a mask for 3 decades of my life. When I became a mother, I was a perfectionist and had set myself with very high expectations.

This book sums up everything you need, to slay the dragons that are burdening you and to come out of hiding to live your true life! She teaches you do not have to suffer anymore.

This was such a cute, easy reading book. Both characters were very likable and it was partially an enemies to lovers trope but with a twist. I loved their cute banter with each other and I only hope their is a sequel.

NPR plus a Romance= Magic radio
What happens when their audience figures out it was all a hoax and will they end up together?

Holy moly! This book was seriously intense and I loved every second of it! A retired detective, whose husband left her and her son and never turned back, decided to make a move to a small town and start over. Her 13yo son has always had a stutter and was constantly picked on.

I thought it had an original story that intrigued me. How could a married woman defend her cheating husband, when his mistress was found dead. She defended him because she loved him.

She is the best chance for him to get off of these Murder charges. The evidence is stacked up against him. Will she be able to save her husband and will she be able to forgive him if she does?

The twist at the end wasn‘t unexpected, I would definitely recommend.

The gentrification of Brooklyn was at the core of the book. Race contentions and conspiracy theories were also at play. I listened to this book on audio, so that might have made a difference in my opinion. However, the writing and the tone didn‘t sit well with me on this book. The twist at the end was somewhat predictable, yet it delivered a much greater punch...but still left things flat. #bookreview #read #books #reading

The Dilemma | B.A. Paris

Mehso-so

The title of this book was justly done! I have read some other books by the author and I went into this book expecting it was going to be another thriller. It was my dilemma that I discovered this book was more about family, love and hope. What would you do if you think one of your children has died? Yes, this book was deep and emotional and I wasn‘t expecting that at all.
It was a story of tragedy and loss and grief!

My takeaways: The writing in this book confused me, I had to constantly think which life she was in as the chapter transitions were awful. The main characters were the same in each life so it just added to the confusion. Yes, it ended up being a happy ending read in both of her lives and she declared that she wouldn‘t be any happier if destiny changed anything. I resonated really well with the above quote also! #books #bookreview #reading #reads
