Mehso-so

5,000 years after the Labyrinth, the Minotaur is working as a line cook in the American South. & all he wants is to live his life & make the connections all people crave.

Such an odd little book. Just the day by day life of the Minotaur. Paced pretty slow. Tonally, it flip flops between tits/ass jokes & melancholy examinations of the deep loneliness that affects those seen as Other by their community. Not sure how I feel about the end.🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

AnishaInkspill I did a double-take on that title, sounds like it's just trying to be outlandish; sometimes the best thing about a book is its title - that's a v funny title 2w

There is nothing in the world quite like a gift from someone that knows you really well! 💖

I can‘t wait to dive into this retelling of the Minotaur in the American South.

Why yes, I did make a bookmark out of the gorgeous wrapping paper.

This was a refreshingly different read, even amongst other books in verse I've read. You can tell the author gave a lot of thought into constructing the verses written, giving each character a unique structure, while still maintaining an air of humor, lightheartedness, and modern language. ⬇️

Nelnjali And this is no sugar-coated view of the myths, most of the characters are assholes, the story of Asterion is tragic, and happy endings are not in sight, which makes this an accurate depiction of the myth and a fun intro into Greek mythology. 12mo

This is a fun mystery/thriller. Two separate but equally creepy and slowly intersecting story lines focus on mums trying to protect their children. I loved the characters, the plot twists and the resolution. I enjoyed her writing style and plan on reading her other books.

Alex and her two kids are running from someone. She finds an “eco village” where they can live in peace (commune). However, there‘s an old farmhouse on the property where something happened years ago. Creepy things begin happening, and Alex has to decide how to protect her family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The first line is Poseidon saying “Whaddap, bitches?” So you have to have a sense of humor. In this myth retelling of the Minotaur, every character has a specific rhyme they stick to. I liked how Elliot made Asterion, the Minotaur, have thoughts and feelings. One thing that stuck out to me is that the pages themselves will turn darker as his story progresses, with Asterion‘s last pages - in the labyrinth - completely black with white text.

Book 210📚 3⭐️

This one was quite creepy but the ending was a bit of a let down. A lack lustre reveal but the storyline kept me interested throughout!

Interesting read. And I appreciate that it ends with a hopeful note. #teamslaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick
