#1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich is in top form as she sends Stephanie Plum on the trail of a stolen cache of dirty diamonds. Stephanie Plum, Trentons hardest working, most underappreciated bounty hunter, is offered a freelance assignment that seems simple enough. Local jeweler Martin Plover wants her to locate his former security guard, Andy Manley (a.k.a. Nutsy), who he is convinced stole a fortune in diamonds out of his safe. Stephanie is also looking for another troubled man, Duncan Dugan, a fugitive from justice arrested for robbing the same jewelry store on the same day. With her boyfriend Morelli away in Miami on police business, Stephanie is taking care of Bob, Morellis giant orange dog who will devour anything, from Stephanies stray donuts to the upholstery in her car. Morellis absence also means the inscrutable, irresistible security expert Ranger is front and center in Stephanies life when things inevitably go sideways. And he seems determined to stay there. To complicate matters, her best friend Lula is convinced she is being stalked by a mythological demon hell-bent on relieving her of her wardrobe. An overnight stakeout with Stephanies mother and Grandma Mazur reveals three generations of women with nerves of steel and driving skills worthy of NASCAR champions. As the body count rises and witnesses start to disappear, it wont be easy for Stephanie to keep herself clean when everyone else is playing dirty. Its a good thing Stephanie isnt afraid of getting a little dirty, too.

“Someday I'll take the time to figure out why I like you so much, why you amuse me, why you intrigue me, why you're so desirable. Tonight, I'm just happy you're here to save me from being alone…” Weird. That‘s how I feel about book 30. I don‘t know why I keep reading them. Not a bad cliff hanger this time though, so I guess I‘ll be reading 31, too. lol

I was ready to walk away from this series, I had walked away - but then my “terrible” habit of reading the end of books I don‘t intend to read backfired on me because Stephanie finds herself in quite the predicament - and I decided I needed all the tea. So I caught up and laughed long and hard all the way through this ridiculous instalment. And now I‘m over here with my Team Ranger sign in preparation for 31.

CarolynM I think the last couple have been better than they were for a while. Looking forward to this one even more now😀 4mo
Bookwormjillk I keep hearing they‘re getting better again. I might have to go back. I think I stopped around 22. 4mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CarolynM, yes! I think a smidge of character growth and more meat to the crime solving plots over the last couple of books - always helps when my favourite side characters get to play a more active role too. Hope you get to enjoy it soon! 4mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Bookwormjillk, I mean, you could skip over quite a few of the meh ones and it wouldn‘t matter 😝 I feel like there has been a bit of character growth that hasn‘t been completely reset with the next book has made the last couple much more enjoyable. They certainly aren‘t what they were. 4mo
jewright @Bookwormjillk You should read 25. It‘s my favorite out of all of them. 2mo

In the 30th book of this series, Stephanie seeks out FTAs while also working for a jeweler to find an employee whom he believes was in on a heist, and she‘s dog-sitting Morelli‘s dog, Bob. Lula, Grandma Mazur and Mrs. Plum are up to their usual antics. I know Stephanie‘s romantic morality is questionable, but I can overlook that for this series. I laughed out loud and can‘t wait to find out what happens next! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️📚 #serieslove2023

Current situation. We are dog sitting my Aunt‘s pup Bob, so there‘s a third dog not pictured. He put himself to bed in his bed on the floor. Loving this book so far. I look forward to these books every year. I‘ve been reading them longer than my oldest child has been alive (he‘s 24). ❤️📚

I‘d almost convinced myself that I was done with this series - I haven‘t read 29 but dirty 30 was in the box of new fiction that I unpacked today… and the computer was taking an age to load so I read the ending… and I‘m intrigued enough to catch up 🤣

Bookwormjillk I stopped in the early 20‘s but every time I see one I‘m tempted. 5mo
JacqMac I put it on hold at the library. I keep saying I‘m going to give up, but they get me every time. lol (edited) 5mo
LeeRHarry I read this series when I need a pick me up or I‘m sick or jet lagged and brain power is set to low. This one definitely has me intrigued - best read 29 first though! 😊 5mo

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LeeRHarry, I‘ve just discovered it (29) on my kindle - must have bought it when it was on sale 🤣 part of me must have known I wasn‘t going to give the series up! 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @JacqMac, same! My Mum reading these and the Kinsey Millhone/Alphabet books are one of my earliest memories. I started reading them in high school… so it‘s basically a family tradition at this point. The latest outing gets reserved at the library and then we (my grandparents, Mum & I) try to get through it before it‘s due back. Do you think Janet is still writing them or are they ghostwritten? 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Bookwormjillk, they are often more miss than hit these days. Stay strong! 5mo
JacqMac I do wonder if she still writes them. I‘d like to think it‘s her. But they aren‘t what they used to be. (edited) 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @JacqMac, there‘s lots of speculation online about a ghostwriter - and I feel like I read something ages ago about her son writing them (can‘t find anything beyond that she does employ her husband and children). Plus she‘s 80 now, some of the things that stick out for me (often the unkind descriptions of female characters) could be generational. 5mo

Book Thirty in this series still entertains me! Most of what happens is so implausible that it's hysterical! But the ending... cliff hanger, Double cliff hanger!!

jewright I love these books! I have this one on hold. 5mo
TheHeartlandBookFairy @jewright This one was really good, but the ending dot dot dot i'm not giving any spoilers, but wait for it.! 5mo
LeeRHarry I still have 29 to read and picked up 30 on the weekend - you have me super intrigued! 😊 5mo
TheHeartlandBookFairy @LeeRHarry You're going to be binge reading but my lips are zipped 🤐 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LeeRHarry, 30 crossed my desk today and I read the ending and suddenly I‘m inspired to catch up (I‘m only one behind) 5mo

Stephanie, Lula, Grandma Mazur, Ranger & Morelli. Plus all the other new and recurring characters. They make me happy and laugh. Out loud. Even in public. I love this series. So much fun to read.

I‘ve read all of the books in this series. And I couldn‘t wait for this one. Stephanie Plum is back and she brought the whole gang along for the ride. Some would say “predictable” and yeah it is in part. But I prefer “familiar”. And “comforting”. It was like sitting down to visit with an old friend. I just wish grandma had a bigger role this time. (I want to be grandma when I grow up 🤣)

Happy New Release Day! As a nod to Halloween, Stephanie is facing her scariest fears yet- commitment and monogamy! No, I kid .. kinda. But Stephanie and Lula are back and the chaotic duo are trying to get their marks with the usual hilarious results. Not Evanovich's best work, but a damn fun time.⭐⭐⭐ I was awarded an eARC from Netgally and Atria books in exchange for an honest review. Find it on Goodreads and Garabrandtreviews.
