OK, I have no books that qualify as both swashbucklers & old cool books so I decided there must be some pirate food in one of my retro party cookbooks. Then I found the S.S. Billy, the Ship Ahoy Cake that 'delights the backyard pirate crew' in this 1959 Holiday Cookbook. The recipe blurb that says "Good Ship Billy climaxes the party on a nautical note" made me snort.?The lego swashbuckler is just for added fun! ☠️⚔️?
As it turns out, I don‘t have many swashbucklers on my shelves. Horatio Hornblower to the rescue! I‘ve never read any of this series, but I love the TV show! We watched on Sundays as a family. It brings back good memories. #swashbuckler #oldcoolbooks

This is my husband‘s book, a gift from me. I have not read it, but when I saw the sailing ship I was certain there must be a #swashbuckler aboard! As I perused the pages, there was mention of Kings and England and shields and swords. I believe a swashbuckler must have a sword!
