If you haven't read this author yet...you need to add him to your list. He seamlessly blends true historic events and his own world building and characters to give you a beautiful saga like read. Not unlike Michner. This is a #chunkster but don't let it intimidate you. Highly recommend this author.
#VolumesAndVocals Day 8: Channeling my inner #VogueMadonna as we pose in front of Stonehenge last April. 💕 Strike a pose.
Watching the livestream of sunrise at Stonehenge. #ShadowCat is fascinated. Haven't seen him watching the telly like that in a long time.
Spooky watches of the day:
1st episode of the new season of Unsolved Mysteries
3rd episode of The Watcher - so unsettling

1) Absolutely! Historical fiction is my go-to and ancient history, if well written, can be among the best
2) Tagged and anything by Rutherford. Also all of Sue Harrison‘s books set in the ice age, & W Michael & Kathleen Gear‘s ancient North American historical fiction
I‘ve been absent from all the weekly posts for a long time thanks to a demanding work schedule. I‘m hoping to get back into the groove again!!
After. My impromptu visit to the British Museum, and my wander around the Stonehenge exhibition, this got my blood up! Although not my favorite Cornwell novel, he again creates these rouguish characters readers cannot help but root for the whole way through. If you love prehistory, battles and violence then I would recommend this one to you!
I love that these books are really popular, but it's misleading that they are easy to read. The level of this book is 5.6 which seems pretty standard for fiction and actually a little low for nonfiction (which it is). Nonfiction for some reason needs to be above 6.0 I wish I could write, I 'd make sophisticated books for low readers, but market them as just books for everybody. Then make teacher/parent editions.
