squirrelbrain I have this one on Kindle but don‘t really read fantasy.... is it too much of a chunkster for a first-timer?! 4y

Kalalalatja @squirrelbrain that‘s a tough question! Do you normally like chunksters? This is high fantasy, so it is a completely new world, with nothing similar to our own, and the book doesn‘t give you a thorough introduction, it is more “learn as you read”. But if you are up for the challenge, I would say go 😄 4y

squirrelbrain Hhhmm, I do love a good chunkster but just not sure about the fantasy thing. I‘m sure it will languish on the TBR list for some time to come.... At least I‘ve learnt something new - I had no idea what ‘high‘ fantasy was.... 😁👍 4y

Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB technically, we aren‘t in quarantine any longer, so we can do our own shopping etc. But everyone is told to go out as little as possible, so we are still at home most of the day. But now it isn‘t mandatory any longer 👍 how about you, what‘s the status in The Netherlands? 4y

BarbaraBB We can go outside and the shops are open but most people stay at home and of course all schools and restaurants are closed and social events cancelled. It is quiet and empty but I spend as much time outside as possible. Even though it feels eerie. 4y

Kalalalatja @BiblioLitten most of the main characters are in their late twenties/early thirties, with a few being younger and older, so I don‘t consider this YA at all! 4y

We are trying to do little “projects” each day, so we don‘t turn into couch potatoes completely. Today we gave the apartment a thorough Spring/Covid-19 cleaning, so I feel justified in taking a few hours with my book and a cup of coffee 📖☕️

It might also be the isolation that is getting to us, but we will see over the next few days 🤞 4y

Quarantine!: East European Jewish Immigrants and the New York City Epidemics of 1892 | Howard Markel

As of yesterday, I was put in quarantine for the next two weeks due to travelling in the UK last week. Today was my first day home, and so far it hasn‘t been to hard to work from home. But I guess I have some long days ahead of me! But anything that might help speeding down the virus spreading to fast is good at this point, so happy to do my part.

Started my first #QuarantineBook today, look forward to it!

First #QuarantineBook finished! That‘s one good thing about having to stay home - plenty of reading time! And with a book as good as this, reading time is needed! I felt bad every time I had to leave Stella‘s life story, and what a life she lived. It was darker than I had imagined going in, but Stella is the kind of character that you can‘t help but love, no matter how dark it gets. She is flawed, she is strong, and she felt real. 🙌

Kalalalatja @Cinfhen yep. Someone from my bf‘s office tested positive for corona, so my bf had to go into quarantine, and so did I because I couldn‘t stay anywhere else. We aren‘t showing symptoms, and tbh I don‘t think we will, but we are doing our duty to help contain the contamination. But most of Denmark got shut down yesterday, so it isn‘t such a big deal, just annoying 4y

Cinfhen Oh wow!!! That‘s crazzzy. It‘s bound to happen to all of us sooner or later. Stay hydrated/ wash your hands xx enjoy the forced locked in. Stay well 💚💚💚 4y

Trying to stay as postive as possible, and symptom free hopefully 🤞I‘m just glad I‘m a reader, I think my bf might end up going a little lock down crazy 😅 but he can work from home, so hopefully that will keep him occupied 4y

Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB same here, all schools and day care facilities are closed, everyone is being urged to try and find a solution to not going to work, like working from home or working different hours, to keep people as far away from each other as possible. 4y
