The weather is awful and it‘s raining 🌧 all the time, so I‘m already thinking about books I could read in autumn 🍂. I would love your suggestions! This is my list so far:

The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Atlas Six by Olivie Blake
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
📖?

#autumn #TBR #needhelp #suggestionswelcome

TheBookHippie I put this aside for fall thinking it‘s a good fit 3y
TheBookHippie Anne of Green Gables is a fall read for me 🧡 3y
thewallflower0707 @TheBookHippie thank you! I read Anne of Green Gables three years ago, but I must say I preferred the Netflix adaption Anne with an E. 3y

Full confession time... I've never read a Stephen King book but want to. Which one of his novels or short stories should be my first? #needhelp #bookrecommendation

MiyakoBunny 🤔The Shining🔪 7y
TrishB Do you want scary, thriller, fantasy? 7y
Cathythoughts I only discovered him a year ago. A long time fan recommend Needful Things to me & I think it was a great introduction. I couldn't put it down 👍 7y

Prairiegirl_reading The book riot read or dead podcast just did a Stephen King pod and they gave a bunch of suggestions as to where to start depending on if you want scary or not. Lots of good suggestions. 7y
OrangeMooseReads If you want to start short and not feel overwhelmed I would recommend Cujo. Or one of the short story collections. (edited) 7y
chemicalpink I vote for a novella collection! Different Seasons is probably my favorite, and three of the four stories in it were made into movies (the movies being Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, and Apt Pupil). 7y
Morr_Books Thanks everyone! Great suggestions! 7y
Morr_Books @TrishB - I think I would prefer to start with a thriller. 7y

Which one should I read next?! Pachinko is for #buddyread or Norse because it is getting great reviews? #NeedHelp #ToughDecisions

Balibee146 Personally I'd go with Gaiman because....well Gaiman. Enjoy whichever you choose xx 7y
ErikasMindfulShelf Pachinko!! 7y
Ms_T I haven't read the Neil Gaiman but Pachinko is wonderful. 7y

auntie_jenn Pachinko ❤️ 7y
KathyWheeler The Gaiman one is a really quick read, so I'd go with it first. 7y
underthebelljar Pachinko!! ❤️ My favorite book of the year (so far). 7y
Jess7 Pachinko! 7y
MinDea @freyaheart does your Litsy name come from Norse Mythology or something else? 7y
freyaheart @MinDea yes Norse mytholgy!! That said you know what my choice is 😉 7y
mrsthilkey Get the Gaiman out of the way. I just finished it- it's short, reminds me of fiction for children, just fyi. I'm done with that author. 😉 I'm wanting to do the Pachinko buddy read, too!! 7y
MinDea @mrsthilkey do you not like Gaiman? 7y
mrsthilkey I tried Neverwhere last year and couldn't even finish it. I wanted to try again but only kind of liked NM. I guess he's just not for me. I love fantasy so much, I'm surprised I don't like his writing or stories...😣😣 7y
mrsthilkey Def give Norse Mythology a try, there's some funny stuff in there. 7y
MinDea @mrsthilkey Norse will be my first Gaiman. I am 50 pages in and enjoy the stories so far! 7y
mrsthilkey @MinDea oh reading is so funny, the more we mention Norse Mythology the more I like it. 😂 7y

Sarah's Key | Tatiana de Rosnay

Ok so my 13 year old son picked this book to read for one of his independent reads this year for school. While I thought it was good, it was a little too hard for him. I am throwing this question out here for comments please...what is an interesting, easily comprehendible book for a 13 year old boy that is over 200 pages (but not much over because he has not inherited my love for reading)? #readinghelp #needhelp

Myhusbandhatesreading He read Maniac Magee 3 years ago, it was a good book!! He's in a different school so that may not be a bad idea. I thought The Giver too but I don't think it has enough pages, I'll check again :) 7y

Johanna414 Did he choose Sarah's Key because of an interest in WWII? If so, he could try one of Chris Lynch's books 7y
Sapphire I haven't checked page numbers, but.. The Phantom Toll Booth, Looking for Alaska, Enders Game, A Wrinkle in Time. 7y
Sapphire When my daughter was in middle school (and not a great reader) I got her lexile reading level from the Language arts teacher (they test them every year till 8th grade) and then found lists of books from publishers of which books were that (letter or number) plus one up and down. Then I searched categories she liked, like non fiction and biographoes. 7y
Myhusbandhatesreading @Johanna414 I don't think he knew the content before he chose it, I never figured out why he chose it but it was a good book....I thought so anyway :) 7y
Myhusbandhatesreading @Sapphire I will have to look into that, thank you 7y
readinginthedark My nephews liked the Theodore Boone series at that age. If he likes fantasy, maybe The Fellowship of the Ring? 7y
Myhusbandhatesreading @readinginthedark unfortunately, he's not into anything...reading is a chore for him 7y
readinginthedark @Myhusbandhatesreading I get that; my husband's not much of a reader. He will listen to audiobooks with me in the car, though. Maybe something like that would work? 7y
