Judge a Book By It‘s Cover!

Which book would you read?

#JudgeABookByItsCover

TrishB I would totally not pick any of these covers!! Only interested in the book because of @squirrelbrain review! 8mo
squirrelbrain Now I‘m worried! @TrishB I hope I haven‘t set expectations too high…. It‘s scary being the first to review a book! 8mo
Oryx I think I'd pick the German one, if I had no idea what it was about. But I think I do still like the UK one best visually. 8mo

Kangaj1 I reviewed this one as well - I am partial to the US cover. 8mo
tpixie @TrishB isn‘t that amazing! I‘d only seen the US ( pass- looks rom com) , but stopped when I saw @julesG post - not certain if it was the black and white or the German writing that caught my attention, but then the book sounded interesting. Then learned there was a third cover! I like the UK 🇬🇧 COVER so much better than the USA 🇺🇸 (edited) 8mo
tpixie @Kangaj1 interesting! My 35 yo niece picked the USA one and my fashion- loving 67 yo sister picked the USA one when I asked them 😊 8mo
jlhammar I find the German cover most appealing, but I'll be getting the US. Definitely interested in this one. 8mo
tpixie @jlhammar I‘m going to read it next! 8mo
TrishB Great bit of market research! 8mo
tpixie @TrishB lol yes!! 8mo

To be honest, I got this because of how gorgeous the cover art is. The story sounds promising, but the cover is what drew me in.

It‘s rare that I picked up a book that I‘ve heard NOTHING about. (Due to Litsy, Goodreads, podcasts, etc.) but I loved this cover and bought myself a little bday present. I loved it. And I love that it‘s the author‘s attempt at explaining something that happened to her family. #judgeabookbyitscover

Mehso-so

Maybe I built up too much hype for this one, but I finished the book feeling disappointed. I found it repetitive and predictable. Over and over, certain characters made the wrong choices and the maji were tricked by the monarchy. For me, the ending felt abrupt and forced. I still enjoyed the book, but just found myself saying, “That‘s it?” at the end. #unpopularopinion #overhyped #disappointed #toniadeyemi #judgeabookbyitscover
