I asked some friends and fellow readers for book recommendations based on five books I‘ve read and enjoyed. My intention was to pick five of those books to read, which I did here in part one, and then I will read those picks and report back! https://youtu.be/7iqhdT8QDME

EadieB @Butterflyamore I have read 13th Tale, Lace Reader and Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and enjoyed all of them. I think The House of Riverton by Kate Morton would be similar to 13th Tale. I haven't read Letters to the Lost but the sequel would probably be the closest. Haven't read Horrorstor but Darkly Dreaming Dexter sounds interesting to me too. I haven't read Educated but I couldn't connect with Maid. To me that book was a big “pity party“. 4y
EadieB @Butterflyamore I think for The Whisper Man, I would suggest checking out James Oswald's series first book entitled Natural Causes. It is a police procedural but it has supernatural elements too. For example: the cat seems to be almost human. I really think you would like this book and series. 4y
abookishbutterfly @Skyrimir Grady Hendrix is my favorite. All of those books pictured are favorites of mine, as well. (edited) 4y
abookishbutterfly @mdm139 They are all great books! 4y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB I have The House at Riverton and it does sound sooo good. I‘m hoping to get to it soon. I‘ve yet to read Kate Morton, although I have four of her books! I will definitely check out your recommendation for The Whisper Man. Just based on that brief example, I‘m definitely intrigued! Thank you! 4y
EadieB @Butterflyamore You‘re welcome! 4y

#shelfie #funfriday Our lounge room book shelves. When we renovated a year ago my husband and I did a big book cull and got rid of a whole book shelf of books. This is the result. My dream is to have a wall of built-in shelves. One day....

Today's #FunFriday #shelfie I usually post pictures of my little bedroom TBR shelf. My living room shelf is a giant mess, and a more or less random collection of read and unread books, but it has its own charms for me.

#FunFriday books: Favorite Middle Grade:
Dear America was my stepping stone between American Girls and Ann Rinaldi -- all together these books instilled a love of history, well, herstory, really. #FunFridayPhoto

Reviewsbylola Patience Whipple was my favorite. I have already started collecting these for my 2 and 4 year olds. 😂 8y
MeganMarieWrites I loved these as a kid! These books are the reason I'm such a history buff now as an adult! 8y
abbiereadsbooks Oh my gosh, I mustve read Voyage on the Great Titanic at least 100 times as a kid. Loved this series! 8y

queerbookreader Omg did you read the princess ones? Like with Catherine the Great and Marie Antoinette, and I think the princess of Hawaii had one too 8y
rachelm @lemonlime799 um, no! I might have to go check those out now... 8y
courtney Omg I was obsessed with the Titanic when I was little and I think I also read that one a hundred times like @abbiereadsbooks 😂🚢 8y
MeganB @lemonlime799 I was OBSESSED with the princess ones! They had the gold edge pages right? I actually sent my mom to three library locations trying to get my hands on Cleopatra's when I was sick one day in fifth grade 😂😂 8y
queerbookreader @MeganB Yes!! The gold edges made me feel so fancy reading them! Catherine's was my favorite ack I need to get all of them out and reread them 8y
bookandcat THESE WERE THE BEST!! 8y
abbiereadsbooks @lemonlime799 I loved those ones! There an Anastasia which is obviously amazing. 8y
queerbookreader @abbiereadsbooks Omg I remember getting to the end of that book and I was like "I know what happens next oh god oh god" I was super stressed out 8y
