Deja Dead: A Novel | Kathy Reichs
post image

My lovely, clever, marvelous #Littens . I recently started rewatching Bones. And I‘ve realized I haven‘t read any of the books that the show is based on.

Are they any good? Should I give them a try?
#BookAdaptations

Ruthiella It‘s been ages since I read one. As I recall, they were pretty good. I think, however, the TV show is not an adaptation of the books but more loosely based on Kathy Reichs real life. 2w
vlwelser The books are good. But they have no relation to the show. You should try one. But think of it as a separate thing. 2w
Kristy_K Agree with @Ruthiella and @vlwelser . Books are good but outside of the MC‘s name and job, they are different. I enjoyed both the books and the show! 2w

julesG What the others said. The books are good, but it's definitely not about the TV serie's Tempe. I'd say the novels are the fictional/exaggerated story of Kathy's job. 2w
thebacklistbook According to an interview the TV series is about Kathy Reichs but she wasn't comfortable being directly depicted so they named the character after Tempe instead. The books are in my opinion good. As long as you don't go in expecting to recognize stuff from the show. 2w
Shemac77 I love the books! 2w
TrishB I love the books- but I‘ve never watched the series! 2w
LiseWorks I love the books, they are not like the show. 2w
BookBr The books are fantastic, but the show takes a very different take on the basics of the story… 2w
Read4life I‘ve enjoyed both. Like others have said, they are different. The books are closer to her real life where she splits her time between NC & Quebec. 2w
TNbookworm I love the show but haven't read any of the books either 🙂 2w

No, because I almost never buy a book I haven't read yet. I only buy books I know I will want to read again in future unless it's a fundraiser, then I target books from my tbr to buy. The exceptions to this rule are Temperance Brennan novels, and, Rizzoli & Isles novels. #sundayfunday

BookmarkTavern Fun picks! I‘ve never read the Temperance Brennan novels, but I really enjoyed the show. I should look them up! Thanks for posting! 3mo

I finished this one today. I enjoyed it much more after reading it in order.

Gahh! I keep reminding myself the sane and healthy thing when it is this frigid out is to remain indoors. The wind chill has us at -33 last I checked. Way too cold.

Sometimes I do, but I always return. What helps me get back to it is reading a very well loved favorite. Dean Koontz and Robin cook. Kathy Reichs, Audrey Coulthurst, and Tanaz Bhathena. #wondrouswednesday

Hands down homemade cider I use organic apple juice from the summer market that was frozen in August. I slow cook it with cinnamon sticks and some cloves jammed into an orange.

A toss up between deck the halls and do they know it's Christmas (not a Carol I know).

I bundle up under covers, wear cozy sweaters, and craft or watch movies.
