Hercule Poirot's Christmas | Agatha Christie

Bk13 of December & #WinterGames2021 & Bk3 of #DashingDecember #readathon is done! Took me longer than usual to read this due to a heat induced headache, which is still hanging around🤕A classic Dame Agatha, except for the amount of blood involved in the crime, with an awful family forced together for the holidays. Perfect Murder setting! #AVeryMerryBingo #TisTheReadson #AVeryMerryReadathon #BlackwellsBookshelfReadathon #MistletoeManiacs 3,916pts👇

Bk7 of August & Bk4 of #AwesomeAugust #readathon is done. So is my scarf! Well, almost. Just a few more rows of #audioknitting & sewing in the ends, then I‘ll have a super chunky, very warm mustard & blue scarf🙌 This Dame Agatha was one I‘ve not read much, but I highly recommend it. It has a great story, Poirot & my fave character, Ariadne Oliver. What‘s not to love🤷🏻‍♀️ #PickYourPoison #ReadChristie2021 #ReadItAgainSam #AudiobookChallenge2021👇

Bk4 of August & #LitsySummerCampReadathon & Bk1 of #AwesomeAugust #readathon is done. A reread by audiobook on Scribd, this has always been one of my favourite Dame Agatha books. One of her more convoluted murders, it‘s set in a big country house in England with a shooting, an unfaithful man & too many suspects. Loved it👍 #ChristieCrimeClub #ReadChristie2021 #ReadItAgainSam #AudiobookChallenge2021 #BookspinBingo #BritishCrimeClassicsChallenge👇

Bk32 and the last for June is done! Finished it last night but was too wiped to post. It‘s also my last #Spring prompt for #Booked2021 #SetWhereUNPeacekeepersAre🙌 I‘ll do my full Spring post later when I have more time. This Dame Agatha is the 14th Poirot I think? On a dig in Iraq, a woman who claims she‘s being terrorized is found dead. Luckily Poirot is visiting the site & solves the mystery. Not one of my faves but still a great read.👇

Cinfhen Woohoo ?? well done ? Don‘t forget that we are now tallying completed prompts with a form submission? You have until midnight, **July 3** to fill out the second quarter form? ?

Lizpixie @Cinfhen Done! I‘ve almost completed all the seasons, I‘m just stuck on the Appalachian Noir & Poetry. I don‘t read much poetry anymore(though I do love watching PoetrySlam)I‘ll have to find some modern poetry that interests me. I was thinking of maybe 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Great job! I see your entry! I‘m a big fan of Nikki Giovanni‘s poetry for a modern take on it. She‘s political, though. 3y

Bk5 of June is done! I couldn‘t resist buying the next in the Midsomer Murders cosy crime series on Kobo. Barnaby‘s wife Joyce is a member of the local theatre society who are putting together a run of the play Amadeus. But tensions are running beneath the surface until the leading man cuts his own throat onstage in what seems to be a terrible accident. Who‘d have thought so much happens in small villages? #SeriesRead2021 #StackingTheSeries 👇

Bk3 of June & Bk1 of #14Books14Weeks2021 is done! The 1st in the Mudsomer Murders cosy crime series was very much darker than I was expecting really. Which was awesome. Some of the characters are so different than the tv show, which honestly I should‘ve expected. It‘s well written, engaging & highly enjoyable with a bit of a shocking ending. Which is everything you want in a crime novel. Loved it. #SeriesRead2021 #StackingTheSeries 👇

Bk16 of April(and the last!)& Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! It‘s past 12am here so it‘s 1st of May🍂 This is one of my favourite Dame Agathas, it‘s more cerebral than most as the crime is so old. I really like the David Suchet Tv ep of this too. #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterF #PickYourPoison #ReadChristie2021 #ReadItAgainSam #HistoricalFiction #BritishCrimeClassicChallenge #VintageMysteryChallenge #BackToTheClassicsChallenge2021 #CloakDaggerChal👇

Bk14 of March is done! It‘s also my #Doublespin book this month🙌 This classic, slightly depressing novel is set in 1930s Monte Carlo, then the Manderley estate in Cornwall England. A young naive girl is swept up in a whirlwind romance & married to Maxim De Winter & becomes the new Lady of Manderley. But the house is full of Rebecca, Maxim‘s first wife who died young. #AuthorAMonth #PickYourPoison #HistoricalFiction #NerdReading2021 👇👇
