Reading your recommendation, Kay ( @kaysworld1 ), between locations while performing Daughter-Uber services for Mom. She always seems to return to the car just as I am reading the loveliest and most delicate of sentences, telling me the next destination when I need a quiet moment. This has a kind of melancholy that fills you with tender reflection. I‘m really enjoying it so far. Thank you for sharing it with me.

monalyisha It‘s okay! He lived a long, good life. His name was Sarge (though, with my parents‘ accent it was more like “Saaaahhhhdge,” & he was most often referred to as “Meatball”). And the hashtag thing is very amusing. 😅 2y

Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity, and Love | Dani Shapiro

Completely blown away by how much I loved this memoir about Shapiro‘s unexpected discovery that her dad was not her biological father. It‘s a complex story of discovery and what makes a family, and I found myself crying a little bit more than once. So good, and I loved the author‘s narration on audio.

Another excellent read thanks to #NewYearsWhoDis!

We Were the Lucky Ones | Georgia Hunter

What a story! What a resilient family! Thank you @Jerdencon for putting this on my #NewYearsWhoDis list. I went into this thinking it was complete fiction with the author cleverly using one family‘s different experiences to illustrate the many horrendous facets of WWII only to find out while listening to the author‘s note that these were real people, real events. What this family went through is incredible and I won‘t forget their story.
