I am so sad today. #literati announced that the book subscription service is ending. It really is my favorite subscription service-giving you tons of seriously thought provoking selections each month to choose from. The app was fantastic and included a page tracker for your current read. Oh well. I guess all good things come to and end 😭 The tagged book appears to be my last selection.

My suggested November reads. I am sure there will be mystery add-ons. Some I do not plan to complete in November, but to carry into December. The buddy reads I will catch up- books coming by weekend.

Bookwormjillk Is that the new Agatha Christie biography? I just bought that on audio and am hoping to get to it in November too. 3y
kspenmoll @Bookwormjillk It is. Wondering if audio will be better?! Not sure I will finish by end of the month- non fiction usually takes me longer to read. Will keep you posted! 3y

I started this around October last year as a #Literati pick, but for some reason life got in the way so I didn‘t finish it, although it was very interesting! A #nonfiction #travelogue of sorts about death and burial rituals around the globe. Let‘s see if I can add this to my already too-long TBR for this month. 😁 #ScarathlonDailyPrompts #PhotoChallenge Day 12: #Grave

In Ancestor Trouble, Newton explores her family history alongside musings about heredity, epigenetics, and more. This book defies genre categorization in the best way. I think it‘s a good look at acknowledging and reckoning with the past in a way that would serve us well if more people did it. #literati

shawnmooney I‘ve been interested in this book for a long while, and I‘m glad to hear you liked it. Might I invite you to come on Zoom and chat with me about it for 10 or so minutes for my Bite-sized Book Chats series? If you don‘t know what that is, the playlist is here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLU-61cZp1pQdBH5V0Zb9q-2ujl4PY8nhf. Would love to have you on as a guest! 3y
Hooked_on_books @shawnmooney Sure, I can do that, though I might be a bit nervous to be on camera. Thanks for asking me! 3y

Really glad I read this through the #Literati book club. A sobering work that addresses how we define a good life, and how we process a sudden death. Despite fame, success, and access to resources most don‘t have, nothing can prepare someone for tragedy at the dinner table. I‘m sure I‘ll come back to this one to help me through grief at some point. 4⭐️s

It‘s been a busy weekend so I‘m just now able to join in on the #FabulousFebruary #readathon. Starting this one today for one of the #Literati book clubs. I love the relatable way Didion wrote. Over the past few years, especially the past 2, I‘ve heard and experienced so many of these life-changing moments, making this a particularly relevant read.

Cathythoughts So good 💫 4y

The behemoth has arrived! I‘m super excited to start this one, as it‘s Roxane Gay‘s #Literati pick this month and she typically writes great discussion questions. But I better get cracking, since I‘m behind due to slow shipping!

AmyG Enjoy! 4y

While this is a good sci-fi story it also has much to say about corporations, directly pointing to one that rhymes with Spamazon, corporate greed and how that has consequences for other people in other countries. How these big company‘s power along with support of the government hurts small communities and other small businesses. Also how it can all damage the environment. 👇

Tera66 I found this book pretty good, I am going to give it 3 stars. I think that it needed to be shorter or longer for me. At this length, 211 pages, I was left wanting more of the story and more time for A.O. 's and DNA‘s relationship to evolve. Or it could have been short and sweet like her last novella Remote Control that I loved. 4y
