MinDea I am fascinated by the idea that people have online personas vs their real persona. It just really baffles me. I watched this show called The Internet Ruined My Life. Did you guys watch this? @batsy @Cinfhen @DebinHawaii I was blown away by how crazy people are to others because they feel safe behind their avatar. I think @Andrew65 just said this same thing to @ForeverNerdy It is horrifying yet fascinating! 6y

AmyG I have been on a few music discussion boards. The internet gives some people this ability to be whoever they want. And some can be absolutely nasty. I always look for consistency online. If someone is nice...watch. Do they remain so? Some sweet, friendly people I‘ve seen...became absolutely creepy and crazy. The internet can be a wild place. (edited) 6y

[DELETED] 3803335244 @Andrew65 was just talking to me about this. People aren‘t afraid to be mean because they are “safe” behind their computer screen. It is horrific. I‘ve watched catfish which is probably similar & it‘s so sad. Catfishes are not only lying to the people, their cheating their self, from true relationships. I haven‘t seen the show but I will. I only have Litsy & Goodreads but no social media is safe from this. You have to be careful on all platforms. (edited) 6y

It's not quite the same but I just finished the tagged book below which is by & about a game developer who is harassed online by a disgruntled ex & the mob he generated to ruin her life. As I said previously people do and say things behind a keyboard they‘d never do face to face, pure cowardice and ignorance (insert your own words here!). I agree have to keep extra vigilant and Litsy appears in the main highly positive but important we all police it to ensure it stays that way.
