I'm trying to read this book but Rick Riordan's writing had gotten quite insufferable in this book. He tries to keep up with Apollo being vain but takes it too far and tries to combine that with the humour in Percy Jackson which just didn't work. It feels like it's dragging on and on.

Jess7 Ohhh I loved this one. We did a read along for this one back in September 2017. Checkout the hashtag #lfereadalong if you‘re interested in seeing some of the discussion on it as you read it. It‘s divided into weekly discussions 2y
erzascarletbookgasm Alright, thanks @Jess7 🙂 2y

#ReadingResolutions #FictionFriday

Ending my Friday evening with some historical fiction based around the effects of the attempted assimilation of Native American children into white American culture in the late 1800s. I'm starting it tonight as I'm on a blog book tour for it next week. I have a feeling this will be a tough, sad read so I'm fortifying my soul with Tim Tams & Honeybush Caramel Tea. 😥 #wildfridaynight

Day 11: #FictionFriday

Just a shot of one of my bookshelves. Since I work in a library I don't buy a lot of fiction, so if I own it, it's probably a favorite. (Eminent Hipsters is there because I'm a fan of Donald Fagen; haven't read it yet.)

Ruthiella You don‘t *gasp* alphabetize by author?😮 JUST KIDDING - l don‘t either really. I‘ve only read one Louise Penny but I LOVE Hillary Mantel😀 I think she is genius! 2y
TiredLibrarian @Ruthiella Nah, I save the alphabetizing for work 😉 and I love Hilary Mantel, too. Wish she would hurry up with the long-awaited 3rd book! ✏📃✒📒😀 2y
KateFulfordAuthor Love Hilary Mantel! Fun fact: The illustrator she used (at least here in the UK) also did my cover! And my husband is now looking up Donald f‘s book. ;-) 2y

I am reading this over the course of 2018 one chapter a day as part of a read-along hosted by Nick at One Catholic Life @ www.nicksenger.com This is my one fiction title to rule them all this year! #fictionfriday #ReadingResolutions @Jess7

TiredLibrarian Good luck! I tried twice & bailed. 2y
Ruthiella @TiredLibrarian Thanks! I am pretty sure I will finish it😃 This slow read with weekly check ins is helping keep me on track! 2y
TiredLibrarian @Ruthiella That's definitely a good way to do it! 2y
MelissaSue81 I have also tried and bailed. I also at some point was forced to read part of it in French. The one chapter a week seems doable though. 2y
Ruthiella @MelissaSue81 It is a very long book! If it weren‘t for the read-along I don‘t know when or if I would‘ve tackled it😀 2y
