Pickpick

I was able to finish this book at an appointment this morning and it was an enjoyable book from beginning to end. In this book we discover the tragic backgrounds of the characters but we also get to watch them come to terms with their lives and heal. The descriptive writing allows for the characters and story to intertwine with the setting and it is just marvelous.

I'm currently about half way through this book and I'm really enjoying it. Deborah Reed clearly has a gift when it comes to descriptive writing - I can almost smell the setting while reading.

Mehso-so

Was able to finish reading The Midnight Side this weekend and I found this book to be just ok. It wasn't a badly written book and the book moved along at a decent pace - I just wasn't able to connect with the characters and the book wasn't as suspenseful as one would have hoped for. However, I did enjoy the paranormal aspects of the book.

This book is beautifully written and it deals with many complex political and social issues within India. On the other hand, I felt as though there were too many characters to keep track of and I would have preferred a more focused story. I can see how others could rate this book highly but I rated it 3 stars. It wasn't a book that I could take time away from as I was lost every time I picked it back up.

veritysalter @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @LeahBergen Thank you, I‘ve been longing for October, unfortunately it‘s very wet here rather than crisp, but the house is cosy and warm and I have some spooky books. Happy Spooktober to you both and happy reading. 2mo

I'm having some serious mixed feelings about this book as I read it. There are times I want to give it a standing ovation and there are times I want to put it aside forever. I'm about a quarter of the way through now and the good is currently outweighing the bad. The first bit of the book was a challenge to get through but I'm glad I powered through.

This book was just so so cute! It's a perfect light fall read that captures the fun noncreepy spirit of the season. Reading this was like curling up with the book version of your favorite fall drink. I really want to go to a pumpkin patch like the one in this book! It's almost like a theme park- let me know if anyone knows of one similar or if the authors based it on a particular one! 🎃🍂🍁 #fallreads #fall #pumpkinpatch #autumn #autumnreads

The weather is cooling down in the Pacific NW, but it‘s not cold enough to keep me indoors yet. As I struggled to pick a book this morning, I realized I was definitely in an assassin mood. That could be from lack of coffee though. #amreading #godsgrave #autumnreads #booksandcoffee
