Aletheia thank you so much for your host extrodanaire talent and letting me be an occasional help! I‘m so glad we are friends 💛🧡💛
For #weeklyfavorites, I‘m sharing 2 books.
The first book is from the #whimsicalreadsbookclub. It was so cozy.
The second book was about my favorite band Linkin Park that I grew up listening to. This ARC is being published October 1.
5/5 ⭐️ I adored this cozy fantasy! I actually wish it was longer so I could stay in this world more! I loved all the different creatures and characters 🥰

Decorated the house today, made sausage and peppers and started this cozy read. Even though the weather is still warm it was the perfect fall day.
Yay! I'm back! I got the work around to work for my phone and have the Litsy app again. I've missed y'all these last 9 months or so. :)
So, without further ado, checkout the new books I got today
😆
My soul needed this! This book is so magical, cozy, and feels like a huge hug! It's about doing the right thing because we can! You just have to be brave enough! It's about showing others kindness, always! The characters... so much I could say! There is so much character growth and relationship building! I'm really going to miss them! I love that there was just a touch of romance! This book makes my heart happy and full! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
I enjoyed reading this book. This book made me want to move to Caltrey and have a cottage with a garden and a library and have a sentient spider plant and a sentient cactus plant. I can relate to Kiela saying she doesn‘t want to be in a relationship because that‘s me and I can relate to how she feels about books. I would recommend if you want to read something cozy.

Can't wait to discuss this months book club pick with everyone. I'll be finishing this read up by this weekend. ✨️
Our #whismicalreadsbookclub book this month definitely had the most “whismy!” I loved this story of a librarian who finds her way back home as she tries to restart her life. Tons of magical creatures and this story was def as sweet as the jam Keila makes. A feel good read that I can‘t wait to discuss! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘ve been listening to the book club book for the #whimsicalreadsbookclub this afternoon and I‘m playing this free Coffee game called Coffee Pack. All you have to do is match the coffee drinks that the game asks you to match and I think this is the perfect game to play while listening to this book. It‘s relaxing just matching the coffee drinks. This game feels very cozy to me just like the book is.

I just started this book for the #whimsicalreadsbookclub. I like it so far.
October TBR... why do you mock me so?????
Need to do more reading and less staring into space 🤣🤣
Plus I'll soon need to choose which books to take to Gladstone's on the annual #gladstonerds reading retreat 💕💕💕💕
Here's the TBR vid in case you missed it:

Sarah Beth Durst says she wrote this book intending for it to “read like drinking hot chocolate…or eating really good raspberry jam. Or a fresh-baked pastry, with hot chocolate and maybe some raspberry jam on the side.” She says, “We‘ve all been through a lot over the past few years. This book is my gift to anyone who wants to escape and sink into a world filled with kindness and enchantment.” 👇🏻
I absolutely loved this book. The characters, the setting, the storytelling. Durst wrote so clearly that I envisioned myself in each location the entire book.

“The sun fell through the leaves, filtered through the green, reminding Kiela of the North Reading Room in the Great Library with its stained-glass windows that cast patterns on the tables. The forest was hushed just like the library…the hush of focused attention, not of sleepiness…a heightened silence that flooded everything.”

When the empire falls, Kelia has no choice but to rescue what books she can from the library & return to the island home she never thought she would return to. There she finds friends, community, love, and jam.
I really did like this. World building was fun, I was really invested in all the characters (especially Caz!), the community building, & the pacing kept me invested! For me, though, both romances just happened too fast. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
“We can only control what we do and hope other people make the right choices.”
I am in love with Caz and Meep 🪴 🌵
Loving this one! 💛💫
This book is amazing! 💫💛
I started this one today! I love it already! I want a Caz 🪴 💫💛 spider plant bestie yes please!
“It wasn‘t that she didn‘t like people. It was only that she liked books more. They didn‘t fuss or judge or mock or reject. They invited you in, fluffed up the pillows on the couch, offered you tea and toast, and shared their hearts with no expectation that you‘d do anything more than absorb what they had to give.” 📚❤️
A sentient spider plant?!? Count me in!
It‘s here and it‘s stunning!! Can‘t wait to begin! ⭐️💜💫 I never say “eeeekkkk” but I will for this!

This was another great found family book. The imagery was delightful and so cozy at times I wanted to settle in with jam and a pastry. The MC was a little too independent for me, but that was part of her growth, knowing that she could trust others again. 4.5 stars.

It's a new month with a new book club pick. Everyone is welcome to join us!
This one looks so good and the cover is amazing 🤩
I found this one on Everand!
The author describes this book as a warm hug, and I would agree. It‘s sweet like jam and low stakes. There is more cuteness than conflict, but I wanted to slide through the pages and visit this charming island and all of its lovely inhabitants. A great book if you want something cozy and light.
I love the original cover, but the OwlCrate edition has great features too!
It appears I have a very good reason to read this new book I purchased this weekend! I‘ll be taking part in the #whimsicalreadsbookclub with @KateReadsYA 😃
Seven books later from the HPB sale—this one clearly an impulse buy because the cover!! But it also looks right up my alley.
I love the cover of this book. It's gorgeous. I also loved the book. The cozy magical fantasy genre is a favorite of mine. Reading books like these makes me happy. Yes, I bought this one. Just looking at the cover brings me joy!

My #BookHaul for Vegas! Two Mary Oliver books and the September #WhimsicalReadsBookClub ! Can‘t wait to dive in!
This is a very sweet book about a librarian who flees the city where she worked protecting spell books with a crate of books back home to a remote island. There is a lot of growth for the introverted MC and the argument about freedom of information is a bit heavy handed, but it‘s still nice to read.
4.5/5 well written and full of positive things while still having a good story.

There was no competition for this month 😂
The clear winner is The Spellshop and I am soooo excited!!!! I'll be getting my own copy to annotate!❣️If you also annotate cozy reads make sure to tag me in your pictures.

I am incredibly sad as I had high hopes for this being a warm hug of found family cozy fantasy. Instead, I have the dubious honor of an unpopular opinion. I can‘t tolerate the FMC, and I‘m overwhelmed (not in a good way) by the interminable descriptions of food (thanks Butter for ruining that for me). I find the writing tedious. The only positive is the sentient plant, but even Caz can‘t save this book for me.
July's Owlcrate adult fantasy box arrived. It's a very pretty and purple The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. This is the 1st month the sprayed edges have a design. All previous adult fantasy books were just sprayed a solid color. I like it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The Spellshop” was a cozy read full of magic, new-found family and changing the world for the better. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cute fantasy that is also an escape from reality 💜
This book has a lot going for it—sentient plants (some of the best characters in the book), a cozy cottage, raspberry jam, & merpeople. It‘s also really quotable—the writing is solid. And yet, the story itself moves slowly (& the stakes never feel all that real), the writing as good as it is can be is often dense, & I really didn‘t like the protagonist—she annoyed me most of the book. So, I didn‘t like like it as much as many other reviewers do.
Love the purple edges on this book which so far is a warm hug of a story.
For anyone looking for the cozy feels of authors like TJ Klune or Travis Baldree, this book should be on your TBR. This is a hug of a book and I hope to see this world explored further by the author. The romance is perfect, the sentient plants are wonderful and the cast of characters combine to bring the whole story together. With elements of magic, fantasy creatures, nature and baked goods, readers will not want to leave this story.
Book mail!❤️
4/5⭐I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is peak cozy, and I am 100% here for it. The deftness with which building home, finding family, showing kindness, being yourself, resisting oppression, and doing magic unfold gradually throughout the book really makes it shine.

“I was terrible to both of you. Why are you being so kind?”
“Because we can.”
Books should be shared with everyone who wants to open their minds and hearts to them. Keeping them, keeping knowledge, from people who needed it; that was the real crime.
Thanks for hosting this fun giveaway! I saw reviews of the tagged book on Litsy and was intrigued by its comparison to Legends and Lattes, so I would love to check it out! 💗💗
