This is a good “pick” if you‘ve already read “The Housemaid”. This book is very entertaining, although you can tell halfway through, what‘s going to happen in the book. Not as good as, The Housemaid”, but a nice twist for a second book .I can‘t wait to read the third book to see what happens to our beloved housemaid.

So good and twisty! Just as wild and addictive as the first book. I really like Millie…she‘s pretty badass!

Not as good as the first one in the trilogy but still a solid thriller!

A great pic for my October surprise book!

Frieda McFadden never disappoints! I finished this in one sitting. #hauntedshelf #blackcatcrew @BookwormAHN

Book two was a hit! I am really enjoying this series. Seeing how Millie‘s life is unfolding and the people she helps is crazy.

This was a quick twisty read.

I have a love/hate relationship with books that are so good that you just want to spend the whole day reading but you can‘t because you have responsibilities lol 😆

Why is this series so addictive?

This one didn't measure up to the first book at all. It seems like she put all her effort into making the original exceptional, while this felt subpar—like most of her other books. The character and story development were weak, and it relied too heavily on shock value over substance.
🎙️This should‘ve had a second narrator…and Lauryn Allman isn‘t the right voice for Millie.

im back on my freida mcfadden kick…book 2 in the series #weekendreads @rachelsbrittain #audiophile #readinggoal #readinglife #serieslove2025 @TheSpineView @Andrew65

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Freida McFadden is a master of misdirection, and the massive plot twist was one that I would never see coming. It was interesting to see how this book differed from its predecessor in terms of plot, but I felt like Millie was still a bit annoying and immature as a character. Overall, this is a solid follow up to “The Housemaid”, however the first book in this series still reigns supreme.

The fat phobia in these books is awful. Fat bodies are described in the most horrendous way. Double chin feature everywhere.
These are a feminists nightmare. The way these women project themselves, how the think about men and how they literally stomp all over other women is disgusting.
And don't even get me started on the flippant way domestic violence is handled.
This is utter trash, yet it's a four stars from me!

Now to read the second one ….

A fast entertaining read. It was fun to follow Millie the maid again. The writing isn‘t great, but the author is good at writing a fast paced read with a good twist. 3.5⭐️

I enjoyed the first one more, but this was ok.

4/5

Millie is a housemaid who becomes entangled in the dark underbelly of the wealthy family she serves. When she meets Douglas Garrick her instincts tell her something is off- but it‘s not him whom she should be worried about. This story kept me entertained the entire time, I swept thru this quickly as I had to know how it ended!!

Another buddy read with @BookBabe2018 !!
This was good, but not as good as the first one.
I am really excited to read more in this series!

This wad my second book by Freida McFadden and the second in the series. I really like this one. It is an easy quick read with a twist you never see coming. I will continue to read her books and I highly recommend this one.

When I think of middle of the road mystery/thrillers Freida McFadden books come to mind. Why, then, can I not stop reading them?! Molly, the protagonist of the Housemaid stories, is somehow both resourceful and incredibly trusting and flighty (to her downfall). The twists are EPIC and really bonkers and while not very realistic they are oh so juicy and exciting! Just fun popcorn thrillers! Nothing revolutionary here but entertaining! 🌟🌟🌟

This book had me hooked the whole time!! 🤯 I truly did not see any of that coming! Gosh I truly love Freida McFadden 📚 This is the second book in the series.

I think this one may have been even better than the 1st one! I was really blown away by the big twist! I was surprised by the time jump between this 1 & the 1st 1 but it made sense in the end. I read this book in a day! I liked Millie‘s maturity & restraint in this one but she‘s still the Housemaid we know & love. I‘m eager to read the next one!

BABY CITY b Freida McFadden and Kelly Stoddard started reading 12/26/24 could not find onlist

I liked this one even better than the first!

The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden. 8/10 rating

Freida McFadden totally won me over this year! I‘m currently hooked on the Housemaid series, and the second book, The Housemaid‘s Secret, is just as wild and unexpected as the first. I can‘t believe how she weaves these crazy twists and surprises into the story. She‘s a total writing wizard!

11-1-24: My 39th finished book of 2024! Book 2 in the series. The housemaid is Millie and she definitely has some secrets. Working for the Garricks is lucrative but something terrible is going on with the wife, Wendy, who hides behind closed doors whenever Millie is there to clean. As the story unfolds, we get some of Millie‘s back story, more than her boyfriend Brock is getting, but more importantly we learn how awful Mr. Garrick is, or is he?

Not too bad. Had some twists.
🥦🥦🥦🥦 Felt a little bad for Broccoli, uhm I mean Brock. 😄😄

The sequel to the Housemaid 😀 At first I was like this story sounds like the original but things definitely take a different turn. I can‘t say it was as good as the first one but it was still a page turner and quick read.

“I have made an incredibly bad judgment call. I have underestimated an extremely dangerous person. And now I will pay the ultimate price.”

Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It is simply a question of how far I'm willing to go...

Early morning soccer training for the 7th grader. A cooler, beautiful morning we are enjoying very much!

The first half was pretty MEH, but the second half redeemed itself. Not as good as the first book, but not terrible. (31)

I really enjoyed this, although I much preferred the first book in the series. It was great to see how Millie was doing after the events of life with the Winchesters. I did see the twist coming a mile off, though, but I think that's because I was looking for it. I'll 100% be reading the third book.
