An unexpected gem! This fast-paced, beautiful story explores imagination, the human experience, and love in all its forms. It follows Megs as she seeks answers about 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' for her sick brother, leading her to C.S. Lewis himself. Her quest becomes a journey of self-discovery, unexpected friendships, and the magic of losing oneself in a good book. It'll remind you why we fall in love with books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️📚
Book club pick! We are meeting Wednesday night. I better get reading!! ❤️📚
This book was recommended to me by #gettbr / Book Riot. I wasn‘t sure if I was going to like a book about a sick kid getting obsessed with the lion, the witch and the wardrobe, but I really did. I loved the main character and her journey. A bit of a sad ending but you kind of know that going in.
Mediocre writing, mediocre (emotionally manipulative) plot. I enjoyed the parts that were about the life of CS Lewis, but I could've done without the entire story of Megs and her unwell baby brother.
This was my #bookspin for December. @TheAromaofBooks
Ahhh I loved this story! It was so touching and I loved learning more about C.S. Lewis and the writing of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. It truly was beautifully written and I can‘t think of much better than a story about the magic and love of reading! Highly recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #wintergames #SantasBookshELVES
Charming book about the writing of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. It was a nice break from prize reading. The audio was well produced. 3 🌟
I listened to the audio and thought it was good. Although I‘m not a fan of “stor(ies) within a story” and that held true for this one. I didn‘t really care about “Jack”‘s (C.S. Lewis‘s) stories and mostly tuned those parts out, but I did love Megs‘ and George‘s story. I also loved Padraig (sp?) and the romance with Megs. I don‘t know for sure, but my guess will be that this puts me opposite of many on which part of the book I preferred
This was such a magical read!
This book perfectly encapsulates the wonder and excitement of falling in love with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. It reminded me of just how enchanting the world of Narnia is and gave me a huge wave of nostalgia.

My April #12booksof2022 pick ❤️❤️ this book is truly magical and a must read for Narnia lovers! It‘s a romance and a love story to the power books and stories. The magic they hold for us and fill us with. I completely stumbled across this book because a friend recommended it
So good. Must read if you love the Chronicles of Narnia. The writing is so captivating. Loved how it went between stories and how they all intertwined. I loved all the characters (rare) and how they were introduced. The ending was perfect. I have no complaints about this book.
4.5🌟
A touching story for all the CS Lewis fans out there. Christmas is the perfect time to read it.
A cozy read about a brother and a sister trying to find the story behind CS Lewis‘s The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Reading this heartwarming book and eating leftovers. A good afternoon.
I listened to the audiobook of this book and I enjoyed the book so much!!! I found the story captivating. I rated the book a 4.75 out of 5 stars.
This book ❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE how all the little things C. S. Lewis came across in his life could come together and make the magic known as Narnia. I won‘t lie, I was sobbing at the end
Woke up to snow flurries ( have we not all suffered enough!! 😡) thank god for treats from the local bakery delivered yesterday, all the coffee the queen can hold and a new book to start
This is a wonderful, magical book on how literature can affect us all. It brought back the beauty of the C. S. Lewis classic The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I want to read more by this author.
I often feel like I‘m cheating on my old TBR books when I buy or borrow new books.
“With stories, I can see with other eyes, imagine with other imaginations, feel with other hearts, as well as with my own. Stories aren't equations.“
“Some of these stories become legends.
Myths.
Tales that are as much a part of us as our bones.“
I am always chasing these stories.
Starting this one tonight. As you can probably guess, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is involved.
4 stars. A very good and moving book. Getting a lot of reading done at work tonight. ED on the eve of a four day weekend. I‘ll enjoy it because Monday will suck:(
This is a beautiful book. I found it was filled with hope and joy, but at the same time there are sad moments. It was real, filled with so much life. Seeing the way everything unfolds was pretty amazing.
I got all the feels with this one, good and sad.
Great story!

The first book of the year did not disappoint. I loved this!
It‘s 1950 and 8 year old George, who is dying of a heart condition, loves the new book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He asks his sister, Megs, to find out where Narnia comes from. She connects with Mr Lewis and he answers her questions by telling her true stories of his life.
I think it‘s time to re-read Narnia.
Loved this one! Last book of 2021...104 books in total for the year. Happy New Year everyone!
With all our family Christmas visiting done on the 23rd, we had a quiet Christmas at home snuggled up with books. I devoured this on Christmas Day - while the switch between first and third person narration kept jarring me until the end, the way Callahan wove the story of CS Lewis‘ younger years in with the story of Megs and George was so lovely. I need to pick up Becoming Mrs Lewis now!
Merry Christmas, Littens! I hope there were many books under your tree. I‘m excited for the stack that appeared for me over our Christmas festivities.
@SamanthaMarie Thank you so much for the book and huge bag of my favorite caramels! I‘ve been eyeing the book at work and I‘m so excited to get it! Hope you have a Merry Christmas 😁
Thanks for organizing the #jolabokaflodswap @MaleficentBookDragon
Absolutely loved this wintry, cozy Christmas-y little book! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
While trying to uplift her beloved, younger brother who is seriously ill, Meg, an Oxford student, seeks out Professor C.S. Lewis to explain if Narnia is real. She discovers that the Professor‘s experiences, as a child and during his War service fueled his storytelling. Meg loves science, but discovers that she loves literature even more. Heartwarming. A love story of family and the power of books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#blameitonlitsy
Love this story about CS Lewis and the magic of his novel, “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” A perfect read for this season! 🦁🏰❄️
This was charming and a great read for a winter day.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the story of a young woman, Megs, and her younger brother, George, who is dying. He wants Megs to do one thing for him — find out where the story of Narnia came from. She meets C. S. Lewis who tells her some of his life story; she relates these stories to George. It‘s a touching book. The only thing that feels a little off is a love story for Megs. It just feels tacked on.
Listening to the audio, and enjoying this gentle story of C.S.Lewis and his writing. #blameitonlitsy
Where does a story come from? If you love Aslan and all things Narnia, this is a must read. 🦁 ❄️
“From Patti Callahan, the bestselling author of Becoming Mrs. Lewis, comes another enchanting story that pulls back the curtain on the early life of C. S. Lewis.”
Have you read this book yet!!

It was delightful listening to master wordsmith & storyteller Patti Callahan Henry at her author event at Wheaton College. Once Upon A Wardrobe is a magical tale that will fill your heart. 🦁🧙♀️🚪
I‘m also visiting The Wade Center, doing a little Joy Davidman research, as well as CS Lewis & JRR Tolkien research.
3.5 ⭐️ This novel gives a glimpse into the story behind a story. It is about the 🪄 that 📕 give to our lives and the 🪄 that our lives inspire in 📕. Sometimes Callahan‘s writing is too precious for my taste; I want the dialogue & flow of the story to be more seamless. However, her books are injected w/ ❤️ morals that leave a sigh in hearts and a smile on 👄. If you are looking for a cozy cry with an ending that is wrapped in a 🎀, try this 📖.
Yea! Book nook snuggle bud is on the mend. Vestibular disease is terrifying. I‘m so grateful my reading bud is making improvements.
Review is up on my blog! Check it out!
