I was reading this Goosebumps classic in a treehouse my dad built. A storm was brewing, and I read a line, something along the lines of 'he opened door and was hit with a blast of stale air' just as a gust of wind shook the tree house. I promptly closed the book and ran inside 😆 #throwbackthursday

Graywacke Good story. 🙂 3d

Finally relaxing in our hotel room after 16 hours of driving over two days. Spending a week in Portland, OR. We are just two blocks from Powell's! Bastille concert, day trip to the coast (i.e. down the shore), waterfall hikes, and some family time with the in-laws. I was looking for something light on my Kindle to read, and remembered I downloaded a Goosebumps collection 😁

Clare-Dragonfly Hahaha, does it count as down the shore if it‘s not New Jersey? 😆 1mo

A quick and lighthearted weekend read. I didn't remember anything about the story, and I kept going back and forth in my mind trying to recall whether R.L. Stine typically has satisfying endings or if he tends to leave the reader with a terrified protagonist in the end. I found my answer, but the story kept me guessing to the very last page. A suspenseful thriller for preteens with relatable characters. I can see why 9-year-old me loved it.

Having a fun little midnight read between Outlander books 6 and 7. My brother left a whole stack of these here, maybe 40 or 50 of them, so I grabbed this one to reread. The first books in the Goosebumps series were some of the best. I'm thinking I might read Horrorland next. Does anyone remember the game on PC? It was so good!

Michael_Gee I LOVED that game! 12mo

Cringe-worthy. This one was definitely dated. (11pts. 10 for theme, 1 for post)

This just *barely* qualifies as a monster story. Not Stine‘s best by a long shot...but I‘m limited as to what Libby has available. 🤷🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️

I spied this #halloween decor outside a neighbor‘s home while audiobook-walking this AM. I‘d say it suits the #horror prompt 💀

hermyknee Oh my god that pennywise is freaking terrifying — I would‘ve run past that door so fast 😱😅😂😭 3y
CoffeeCatsBooks That‘s pretty awesome! 🤡 3y
Melismatic @hermyknee it was pretty intense. They had two huge spiders hanging up above the door frame too...couldn‘t get it all in one photo 🕷 3y

I‘ve noticed a few trends in these books: main character is 12, Cocker spaniel dog, and a “larger” parent #goosebumpschallenge

Literary_Siren Just a so-so? ☹️ this is one of my favorites! 4y
BeansPage @Literary_Siren I liked the complexity of it, I really did, but it's a little bit to Cloak and Dagger for me. 😉 4y
