From the N"ew York Times" bestselling author of "The Paris Key" comes the story of a mysterious work of art and the woman inspired to uncover its history in the City of Light. After surviving the accident that took her mother s life, Claire Broussard worked hard to escape her small Louisiana hometown. But these days she feels something lacking. Abruptly leaving her lucrative job in Chicago, Claire returns home to care for her ailing grandmother. There, she unearths a beautiful sculpture that her great-grandfather sent home from Paris after World War II. At her grandmother s urging, Claire travels to Paris to track down the centuries old mask-making atelier where the sculpture, known only as L inconnue or the Unknown Woman was created. With the help of a passionate sculptor, Claire discovers a cache of letters that offer insight into the life of the Belle Epoque woman immortalized in the work of art. As Claire uncovers the unknown woman s tragic fate, she begins to discover secrets and a new love of her own."

Prompt: LETTERS

HISTORICAL FICTION - FRANCE

I fell in love with this book the minute Claire walked into the warmth of her childhood home as she returned to take care of her dying grandmother.

LETTERS FROM PARIS left me with a warm, cozy feeling because it was filled with history, family, Paris, love, and was simply a lovely read.

#IllSeeYouInParis book challenge May book... What an amazing story! Part family story, part historical fiction, part love story. I love That this book is Blackwell's spin on a true historical event. Claire/Chance was always told she was a miracle child. The survivor of a tragic accident that took her mother's life. On her death bed, Mamaw tells Chance to go to Paris, that secrets will be revealed. The story that follows touched my heart ❤️

#IllSeeYouInParis May book 😁 I can't wait to start this one... As soon as I'm back home from vacation 😊📚 Who's reading along?

kspenmoll I enjoyed this one. 3y
TheKidUpstairs I just discovered this hashtag! Paris is one of my favourite literary settings. Is there a selection for June? Do you have a list of titles you've read so far? 3y
TheHeartlandBookFairy @TheKidUpstairs Oh, you're going to love this challenge then! If you just search the hashtag and go back to the first post, you should see a graphic of the 12 books for this year. June's selection will be PS from Paris by Marc Levy. I think you'll love the graphic for the 12 books/12 months 😁 3y

This is the third book I‘ve read in the last week with a dual timeline. It was the best of the bunch. Like the MC, I want to eat fresh croissants for breakfast and spend time exploring a historic city.

mom2bugnbee Every time I see this author, I laugh, because I have a dear friend with the surname Blackwell who has a cat named Juliet. 😂 3y
kspenmoll Enjoyed this too. Paris❤️ 3y

This book was a so-so until the end. Chance travels to Paris, after her grandma dies, in hopes of revealing the secret of a death mask from her childhood. She finds so much more. I loved the descriptions of Paris, the market, streets, gardens, country side. Made me feel like I was there or wanted to be there. 💜💜💜

Well dang. Sometimes books make me feel so behind on my knowledge. This book I'm reading kept mentioning L'Inconnue de la Seine, so I decided to look it up and it's a real thing. The history of it is tré morbid.
