I have long been impressed and intrigued by JFK and I found this to be a really edifying read. One that was interesting and filled with historic details that have been slowly forgotten. Highly recommended this one. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

Hot off the heels of a "president" that had no idea how government actually works and didn't actually care, this book is an impressive look at integrity within the system of government. Kennedy writes biographical essays about politicians who held true to their beliefs in the face of adversity. They did what they felt right, even when bullied by other politicians to conform.
This was one of the books I gleaned from my mother‘s bookcase, and it seems like the sort of book at least one of my parents would have read, so...
1. Something by the Beatles, maybe Yellow Submarine?
2. I got away to the beach for a few days, then I got back home safely.

Thanks for the tag! @Eggs
I'm using this for Biography (3 way bingo) #jennyis30 @jenniferw88
President Kennedy researched 8 Senators that demonstrated unfailing courage - They responded to their hearts, their convictions, and not to what their constituents wanted.
This surprised me. I thought a voted person was held under obligation to be faithful to those who put them in office. They committed political suicide to vote for the nation's welfare, which is admirable.
This #audiobook was excellent. It's really interesting. JFK wrote this when he was a senator. It's about having the courage to speak up even when it might damage your political future.

I started a new #audiobook (tagged). Read by JFK Jr. It's about people that spoke up for what they believed in regardless of what it might do to their political careers. It's American history pre-1963, so a lot has happened in the meantime, but it's still super interesting.

My non-fiction haul! (See previous post for fiction haul). Tagged book‘s jacket is a bit worn, but not bad for $1.50 and being an early edition.
It‘s been rainy— perfect for reading for the rest of today!
A few for me, a few for them. 😂 #bookhaul #bookoutlet #sale

I'm not sure what I expected this to be like, but I didn't expect it to give me such a new perspective on Congress and our government. I also think it may have helped me decide who I'm voting for. I love when books have such unexpected effects on me.
On the last page of the book, this one sentence made me feel like I can be just as courageous as these men.
