I can understand why diehard fans annotate and analyze this series. I don't know what Maas is best at creating: characterization, world building, or storytelling. It is so fantastically addictive. Thank you @StayCurious for leading our group ##LitsylovesSJM

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Queen of Shadows Ch.71-80: Hold on…trying to catch my breath. What a whirlwind few chapters! Hands down - best part was Lysandra kicking ass as a ghost leopard. Question: do we really believe the King was mostly innocent in all his crimes? That he was just a pawn? Do we think he‘s really dead? I guess they have to go after Perrington now. I‘m very interested in how things will be now that magic has returned.

#littenslovesjm I just needed to be done this giant tome 😆 soon it will be time to put the Christmas tree up and that means my reading spot goes kaput - I can not believe all the happened in this book 🤯 and that I remembered nothing beyond witches and that‘s only in the vaguest sense. The next book I haven‘t read so I‘m really looking forward to it

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Queen of Shadows Ch.61-70: yikes things are getting tense! Where‘s Lorcan!? That betraying bastard - let me at ‘im! I honestly don‘t know how our team will get out of this one. SJM is really good at making you hate the villain and boy do we hate the King of Adarlan! Pure evil and he always seems to be one step ahead of our heroes. How does he do it and will he succeed this time?

Finished this on the plane to Jersey, to see my granddaughter. Could not put it down and cannot wait for the next one!

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Queen of Shadows Ch.51-60: wow! That fight scene was epic! Seeing our two girls come to blows was everything we needed. And then seeing Aelin save Manon so unexpectedly- our queen is full of surprises. Those two need to become allies and take out Manon‘s horrible grandmother and the awful king. I‘m shipping them as besties for sure. 💕⬇️

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG QueenofShadows Ch.41-50: wow! I can‘t quite believe what happened to Arobynne-When he slipped the ring on Aelin‘s finger, my heart nearly stopped. Dorian under Valg control is bad enough. His chapters are hard to read -but to think of the Queen being a puppet - nope. Not having it. And neither is she apparently 🙌 I think she‘s going to need to keep Aedion in the loop though for future plans. He‘s going to get pissy otherwise

I can‘t even begin to imagine the horrors they‘ve suffered- I‘m sure Elide only saw the surface in that brief glimpse. Manon needs to step up and take care of business. And protect those under her jurisdiction. ⬇️

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Queen of Shadows Ch.21-30: oh, things are getting good! Manon has taken Elide as a witchling under her wing - but what will her grandmother say? Manon is showing too much softness, too much caring - at least in the eyes of that old bat. Aedion meets Rowan and it‘s all about the Alphas. Poor Aedion realizes he‘s been beaten by Rowan to the blood oath. This is a big deal - this was Aedion‘s calling. I felt bad for him. ⬇️

5⭐️ I want to say I tried to not finish this book, as I am reading this as a #buddyread with @StayCurious , @Roary47 and many more; however, once I started, I couldn‘t put it down. I love this series, which is why I have decided to read it again. But after book 3, this is 4, I am 100% hooked. So I tried to follow the schedule, but that only lasted a day, and I‘m OK with that 😁 looking forward to the next book, but I‘ll try and wait for the group.

First, when your suspicious and smelly “allies” wants to experiment on you with demons from another world - you say no. Hands down, claws out. Manon needs to find a way out of this mess or all the witches will pay. Her grandmother sending threats through the mail is annoying. Down with grandma! ⬇️

Last week was so bonkers I didn‘t make it to the library for this book until Tuesday ( yesterday) and I‘m finally sitting down to a cup of tea to start it so I can go back and comment on Monday‘s #littenslovesjm post

I decided in order to take some of the pressure off the #buddyread, I would “assign” 10 chapters a week and we would check in once a week, on Mondays. This will take us to end of November but of course you can read at your own pace, as always. Please let me know if you want to join in - all are welcome!

I like seeing Aelin try to cope with all the recurring characters of her past (Arobynne, Chaol, Lysandra - and memories of Sam - and of course Aedion). Coming back to Rifthold is a lot for her. I feel terrible for Dorian. Will he be able to break free of his father and the Valg? And I still dislike Chaol. A lot. ⬇️

Finished my reread.

This is the 1st Maas book out of the 9 I‘ve now read that I genuinely enjoyed. But darn, it should not take until the 5th book in a series to feel invested…also, there definitely are some plot choices that feel weaker than they should given the build-up. P.S. peep those lil toe beans!

1. Got the tagged book back from the library with minimal down time.
2. Went to a car show finally.
3. Got some good photos too.
4. Kelly Bishop's autobiography is in for me to pick up.
5. My craft feed on bluesky is almost NSFW free.

just finished getting my book recs together for my #autumncomfortswap match! some finishing touches then it will be off to the post office.

My pumpkins have sprouted (two of four). And my tomatoes have settled in nicely. Now all I have to do is monitor my empty garden patch until I can get some high strength acetic acid to kill off the last of the thistle.

Edit: all four pumpkins have now sprouted!!!!

I feel like this series just gets better with each instalment. The tension in this one was peak, with so many secrets and mysteries coming to fruition and being uncovered. Celaena/Aelin really comes into her own and claims the power meant to be hers; Manon struggles to find her true path; NOTHING is how it seemed at all. An excellent read , and SJM always ramps it up so much at the end so that you can‘t wait to get to the next book.

This series keeps getting better with each book. I loved the growth of the characters and the continuing of the series. I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Did i stay entirely way too late to finish this? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. Those last 100 pages again. Up and down with my emotions.

I have been listening to this series on libby. Well my library doesnt have all of them. So i guess i will read it. Lol

So, again, the french edition is two books for the 4th in the series... But the cover is gorgeous :)

Another good one. I‘m going to take another breather from the series…just for a minute!

I know this is a constant subject…..but abraxos IS Toothless. I can‘t get over it 😂😂 also queen of shadows is utter chaos.
