#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.52-end: Well, we already knew he was up to no good, but now we know that Perrington is in league with the King and they are up to their elbows in dark magic. No wonder the King banned magic in his kingdom, if only so he can be the most powerful person around. Celaena better be careful and so should Nehemia. Even Dorian needs to tread carefully where his father is concerned. ⬇️

StayCurious I look forward to seeing what happens next and what is in store for our characters. This was overall a good start to the series. There were a few weak spots - such as the tournament really not being used to its full advantage - but I‘m intrigued in this world and I like the main character and am rooting for her. I will post a schedule for book 2 shortly. 5d

5feet.of.fury We‘ll see how Celaena can get out from under the King‘s thumb after his threats against her friends. Glad she broke it off with Dorian, although we‘ll see how that goes in the long run. Excited for book 2! 5d

Laughterhp Yes! Loved how the book ended and I‘m definitely intrigued. Looking forward to the next book and see what happens. 5d

Roary47 Even though they put K in prison they have plans to use her more. I hope Celeana doesn‘t fall for any of her tricks when that happens. 5d

Read4life I agree that the ending left me wanting to dive into book 2. The tournament could have had better coverage in the story, but I like how SJM writes her characters both main and supporting. 4d

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.49-51: Wow, what an intense duel between Cain and Celaena (and Nehemia and Elena vs demons). In the aftermath Nehemia tells Celaena her secrets (she‘s super badass) and it is alluded to again that Celaena has magic in her blood. Dorian stands up a bit to his father and Chaol won‘t be punished for killing Cain, even though Cain was acting out what the king wanted. ⬇️

StayCurious Kaltain got the shaft and will probably be killed or imprisoned. I feel a bit bad considering she was used by Perrington. Here‘s hoping the duke gets his later on. We‘re almost finished the first book - we‘ll read the rest tomorrow! 6d

Roary47 I‘m still #teamchoal Dorian didn‘t stand up for her or help her when she was obviously losing her fight. Choal was literally on the sidelines encouraging her. I‘m glad K got what she deserved, but also feel a bit bad. Perrington needs to be next. I‘m glad Choal didn‘t get in trouble, but have a feeling he will in the end no matter what the king said. Now that I‘m done discussing I‘m going to go finish it. 🤭 6d

Butterfinger I lost my phone last week. I love the women in this book. I even hope Kaltain has a redemption arc after being manipulated by the king. 6d

We knew Perrington and Kaltain had arranged to drug her during the duel but to think that they actually pulled it off…so many emotions right now. How will she pull through and how can she prove what they did? Really tense chapters as we near the end.

Laughterhp I read ahead. 🫣 but mostly because my kindle has been on airplane mode because my hold expired 2 weeks ago for this book and I want to turn it off lol. However, I‘m so mad they actually poisoned her and she didn‘t expect anything! Why did she drink anything Kaltain gave her?! 7d

LiseWorks I was proud of myself for not reading ahead. The fight was so intense that I was wincing with every blow. And how come Cain was saying all those nasty things about and to her. 6d

Roary47 First I love the “Emperors new groove” meme! I agree with everyone. How low can you go to poison someone to make sure the other dude wins. This would be a compliment if the stakes were not so high! I missed this check in so I sort of read ahead. 😅 6d

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.43-45: I‘m glad Celaena told Nehemia about who she is but was surprised she didn‘t rat out Cain. Why keep it to herself? Chaol at least should know, even if she told him in a roundabout way. The King is back - and super secretive. What the heck happened that everyone he was with died?! I hope we find out and it isn‘t just brushed under the rug. More smooches with Dorian - but we don‘t really know how she feels⬇️

StayCurious I‘m annoyed that the tests keep getting glossed over or canceled. You could have some very interesting scenes with the champions. Now we‘re already on to the duel and I know nothing about the other two that made it besides Cain. 1w

Laughterhp Seriously. What was the point of even pretending there would be tests. Or why have so many characters if you weren‘t going to talk about them? 1w

Roary47 I agree that I would have liked to read more about the trials, and other characters. I‘m also glad that she was able to get Nox out of there. What happened to the poisons guy? Was he eliminated or killed? I‘m hoping the next chapters will help answer some questions. 1w

StayCurious @Roary47 Pelor was eliminated if I recall correctly- not killed. But did he have to return to his prison? Or wherever he came from? Cause that sucks 1w

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.40-42: That was intense! Celaena not only discovers who is behind the Champion killings, she defeats the evil creature! Thank goodness she had explored the tomb earlier. Interesting how when she was thinking of being killed, she thought of Nehemia and Chaol but not Dorian. That tells us something for sure. And now she‘s been poisoned by the creature‘s bite and has a different fight ahead of her.Will Nehemia save her?

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.37-39: Nothing happened at the Yule ball-except dancing and romance and a love 🔺 getting more complicated. Celaena was expecting something to go down - perhaps Nehemia didn‘t strike because she didn‘t want to hurt her friend - Celaena was not supposed to be there. Or Nehemia is innocent 🤷‍♀️ I believe Perrington is up to no good - of course. And something is up with Kaltain. Time for some answers to this mystery!

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 1 Ch.34-36: so we‘re down to 5 Champions and most of them have been gruesomely killed - but I feel as though that has been glossed over. Each death is just mentioned in passing. And while Celaena is worried, I feel as though there should be a bit more being done around the castle. Maybe having a masked ball isn‘t the best idea. ⬇️

StayCurious As Celaena mentions- it would make a good place to unleash the beast. Do we think it is Nehemia behind the killings? She is acting strangely. 2w

mcctrish Despite reading this before I remember nothing - Nehemia is acting strangely and has been using Celeana AND she knows what wyrdmarks are/mean. I can‘t believe she‘s behind the gruesome disemboweling. I think the weird black rings are so Perrington/Cain are somehow. Or it‘s the King somehow. Today is my last day of school so maybe I will just read to the end 😆 2w

Roary47 Like @mcctrish I‘ve read this and I remember nothing about what happened. Nehemia is definitely hiding something, but until her people were slaughtered did she really have that much of a vengeance? It seems this king is on the bad side of a lot of neighboring communities so it could be anyone. I also am starting to like the prince @LiseWorks I mean he gave her a puppy! 🐶😍 He‘s so awkward around her it‘s so cute. 🥰💛 (edited) 2w
