The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer | 
pickWell, without giving anything away, I‘ll just say the ending is NOT what I was expecting. This is somewhere between a pick and a so-so for me now that I‘ve actually finished it, but I do find myself wanting to read the next volume in the series which is a definite mark in its favor.
I‘m halfway through and just can‘t decide what I think
It‘s marketed as new adult mystery/thriller but I‘ve seen no evidence of that yet It actually seems to be 1/2 YA romance-I‘m not appreciating the burgeoning relationship AT ALL & 1/2 exploration of PTSD induced hallucinations & memory loss in the months following a trauma-handled VERY skillfully
But not sure how I‘m feeling overall or what to expect in the 2nd half Has anyone else read this?
pickIf you're a YA fan and like those weird supernatural elements - you're going to like Mara Dyer. The plot is a little convoluted and confusing, but if you take your time reading it and allow yourself the suspension of disbelief, you'll have a good time! The writing is well done, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

pickI honestly forgot just how amazing this book is! This was a re read, so that I could FINALLY get to book 3 (after re reading book 2) because for some reason I never picked up #3 when I first read them years ago! Tamara is a very unreliable narrator, so you‘re really questioning everything and it keeps you hooked throughout! A full review will be up on my blog soon 😊😊

Noah grinned unevenly. "Can't wait," he said "It was an absolute pleasure, Indi. Daniel we must talk. And Joesph, it was wonderful to meet you." This has to be the best meet the family scene ever. Mara is just cringing so hard and Noah is casually charming her whole family!!
I read this after buying it for my birthday last summer. I didn't know much about it, but it totally surprised me. It's an amazing YA psychological thriller and I devoured the other two books in the next couple of months. Noah Shaw is one of my favorite book boyfriends, although to be quite honest I can't explain why I love him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

pickThis book hooked me from the very start. Unlike anything else I've ever read I found this one unusual and intriguing. The twists at the end--WOW! I cannot wait to start the next one in the series.

pan50 shades of terrible. Every character was either unlikable or one-dimensional, the plot, while mildly interesting, didn't really go anywhere, etc. It could have been great, but alas, it wasn't.

I don't know what was happening in this book. It started off interestingly. A teenage girl is the only survivor of an accident that claimed her 3 friends. She can't remember what happened, though. She finally starts to remember & what's that? VOODOO! And she kills people with her mind! And her new boyfriend is a psychic healer! *jazz hands*

I feel #like Mara's slow but steady deterioration into #madness was upsetting because she doubted #herself and I #think it's really #scary not knowing if you're sane or not. Did I mention I love Noah Shaw? All in all, a #great #read!
pickI really loved this book, it was mysterious and psychologically suspenseful and I really can't wait to start the next book in the trilogy. Mara Dyer is a great character, really complex.

I would have laughed-the whole thing was ridiculous. But the way he said it, the way he was looking at me, was shockingly intimate. Like he knew my secrets. Like I had no secrets.

So I get that a lot of people thought that this book was too much about the relationship between Mara and Noah, and it was. However I still really enjoyed it. Noah's not the perfect Prince Charming and Mara's 'illness' is slowly taking over, giving it a creepy air and feeling that it's building to something dark and huge... and then that ENDING. p.s I LOVE this cover.
pickThis was my first time reading an unreliable narrator. I feel like I don't know which way is up... A little over half way the story threw me for a loop. I'm still not sure what happened. I don't even know what to rate this yet... I loved the romance though. So far I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️but I feel like I have to wait until I've finished the series to know my full thoughts.

pickI love this book. It's one of my favorites. There was not one boring part or chapter in this book, trust me. One of my favorite characters is Noah. The way the author describes him is so perfect! He's definitely every girl's dream boy. I loved it because every page will have you guessing, "What will happen next? - What will Mara do?" It was so breathtaking. I wasn't even finished with the book when I recommended it to my friend.
