I read a little about the controversy surrounding this book and wanted to judge for myself. I am glad I did. It was a story about a girl who grew up believing something learning more about the world and changing from the prejudices she has been fed.

Yeah_I_Read I just finished it #and I thought it was really good. Obviously she struggles when she is faced with a world that goes against everything she was taught and believed in. The only thing I can think of is that the people who started the controversy didn't read the book entirely or properly. I have been known to speed read books for review but I would hope that anyone calling someone's work racist and homophobic would really make sure they had a leg 7y

Nitpickyabouttrains @Yeah_I_Read I agree. I think the review the controversy was written on must have been written having read only the first part of the book, before Elloren starts to understand the prejudice she was raised with. 7y
