The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer | Bestsellers - Books USA Press

Pickpick

So I get that a lot of people thought that this book was too much about the relationship between Mara and Noah, and it was. However I still really enjoyed it. Noah's not the perfect Prince Charming and Mara's 'illness' is slowly taking over, giving it a creepy air and feeling that it's building to something dark and huge... and then that ENDING. p.s I LOVE this cover.

I don't want to fixate on the Penryn and Raffe romance as this book is so much more than that but YES! You just don't know, until the very end how it will work out, it doesn't seem possible that anything can work out for this pair. One other thing... Beziel, didn't see that coming, I so feel for that thug.

The darkness continues in this sequel and I just loved it. The Angel's plans, the human's desperation and everything tearing Penryn and Raffe apart is just so compelling to read.

I was totally into this book from the very first chapter. I just loved the dark backdrop, the dark themes, kickass Penryn and sarcastic Raffe. It wasn't as shiny as a lot of other YA series and that was refreshing.

Wow. Helen turned into a total badass with mad powers. I love that all the characters are so vivid, each one has their own story, I just love Hector, Noel and Cassandra. The action in this book was incredible, never ending and so tiring but SO good. Just loved it.

Dreamless | Josephine Angelini

A very enjoyable sequel to Starcrossed. Josephine Angelini has built this huge history, based on Greek mythology but she's put her own stamp on it and made it so much more, it's super interesting even without all the love and turmoil. I really enjoyed the underworld scenes, very creepy. Love Orion and hate Daphne, I know I'm not alone there, still feeling Helen and Lucas, you know that'll come right in the end.

I normally avoid books with links to Greek mythology, not really my thing but I couldn't ignore the reviews on this one any longer. I really enjoyed this book. I just loved the whole instant hate dynamic between Helen and Lucas followed by life saving, lots of hand holding and an ending that's oh so frustrating, it was a teeny bit predictable in places but it didn't stop me enjoying it, it's very addictive.
