I will always be biased when it comes to reading any gothic tale. Loved this novel! Full of evil/vengeful spirits, a horrible man, history, witches, and a creepy estate. The only sad part was when it came to an end. I appreciated the headstrong heroine. I would hand this book to anyone who enjoys stories that have the potential to keep you up at night with a bit of history thrown in.

Weird, magical, eerie, and strange. I went in with an open mind, and was still taken aback by this sequence of events. An incredibly unique idea that didn‘t end how I wanted it to! lol Still, this idea will keep me up at night….wondering.

I love Hatke‘s books! Sent to the basement to find his sister‘s missing sock, Milo soon finds himself on an unbelievable adventure when he discovers the basement is far larger, older, & more mysterious than he could have anticipated. A marvelous story about finding your courage, friendship, compassion, and curiosity. There is plenty of adventure & just the right amount of danger in this fabulous, wonderfully illustrated MG graphic novel.

#Bookmail is THE best mail…even when vol. 5 of Spy x Family comes in before volumes 2, 3, and 4. 🤷‍♀️

Excited about all these but especially the tagged book—Hatke writes truly fantastic MG graphic novels and I‘ve heard good things about this one.

“By the end of the week Jasper was seeing creepy carrots creeping EVERYWHERE“.

This book has a strong sense of imagery. It can also be read at a fast speed as the poem has short sentences.

This is a book about a bunny, Jasper Rabbit, who loves carrots. He picked carrots everywhere he went. On his way to school, little league practice, and back home. He noticed that the carrots were following him everywhere he was going. Even as he was brushing his teeth. He turned around and thought it was his imagination. So then Jasper fenced in the carrots so they couldn't get him. The carrots cheered because Jasper couldn't eat them.

This book is the perfect amount of spookiness for young children. The book is beautifully illustrated as it uses the colors of black, white, and orange to capture the Halloween spirit. Overall, the book is super funny and shares an importance message for young children.
