The thing about this edition I found at a cheap book sale ,they added this poem , tacked it down over Trees , this edition was gifted to someone in 1920. Wondering if owner or giver of the book added “Prayer of a Soldier in France.”

It has been a touchstone of popular culture, love it or hate it .I think I remember Bugs Bunny reciting it in a cartoon.An indicator to those who don‘t read poetry that poetry is being read? If you know what I mean.
He died in 1918 , killed by a sniper‘s bullet in WWI.

Any time I think of woods/forests/trees I think of this poem. One of my faves! 💚🌳💚
There is a memorial forest here named in Joyce Kilmer's honor. It has some lovely trails for hiking.

One idea that didn't make it into the final film was that each day Phil would go to the Punxsutawney Library and read a single page of a book and by the end of the film he would have read every book in the library multiple times. #igotyoubabe #bing
