Lu must learn to leave his ego on the sidelines if he wants to finally connect with others in the climax to the New York Times bestselling and award-winning Track series from Jason Reynolds. Lu was born to be cocaptain of the Defenders. Well, actually, he was born albino, but that’s got nothing to do with being a track star. Lu has swagger, plus the talent to back it up, and with all that—not to mention the gold chains and diamond earrings—no one’s gonna outshine him. Lu knows he can lead Ghost, Patina, Sunny, and the team to victory at the championships, but it might not be as easy as it seems. Suddenly, there are hurdles in Lu’s way—literally and not-so-literally—and Lu needs to figure out, fast, what winning the gold really means. Expect the unexpected in this final event in Jason Reynold’s award-winning and bestselling Track series.

So sorry to be saying goodbye to these kids! 😭 This started off as my least favorite but halfway through, the waterworks started. Each character faced challenges in their own lives an on the track, navigating life and new skills. I recommend this to any reader, middle school to adults! #SeriesRead @TheSpineView

LiteraryinLititz I‘m done with the other 3 books and am excited to read Lu‘s story! 2w
IamIamIam @LiteraryinLititz They're all so amazing!! I think I had a chip on my shoulder about Lu because of how mean he was to Ghost in the first book but I fell in love with his story about halfway through. 💜😁 2w
Tamra I know, sad. 😢 2w

I probably drive him crazy, but my husband always manages to #forgive my bringing home more books from stores and libraries, despite not having finished ones I already have in the house!

That‘s a wrap on the track series. I have a very exasperated 8 year old girl who insists Reynolds MUST write more. My favorite installment was Sunny, tick tick boom, with his ear for the rhythm of words. But, they are all good and we give 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Reynolds just has a way of capturing & conveying real life feelings and situations, and not just for or about kids.

Tamra P.S. We think he should add one more to the series from Coach‘s POV. 4mo

Such a delightful finale to this series. Each book focuses on a different character on this high school track team so that, by the time I got to this one, I felt like I knew all the characters and it was a sort of reunion with my buddies. Personally, I‘ve always hated running, so it‘s interesting to me to read about people who love it and willingly do it every day. I love how Coach pushes them all to be the best versions of themselves.

Lu is the fourth and final book in the Track series. Lu the Lightning Bolt has always felt different, but he feels at home running on the track. With new responsibilities to the team and his family, everything in his world seems to be shifting, and he learns what integrity and family really mean.

Daisey I really enjoyed Ghost and need to make time for more of this series! 8mo
