Such a beautifully written, heartwarming story 💚

I had previously read The Memory Police by this author and loved it. This book also has a memory connection because the professor in the story can only remember new things for 80 mins.

I thought the mathematics would be tedious to read about, but I was wrong because it was fascinating how the author weaved it into the rest of the story.

Soubhiville Agreed! I liked this much more than I expected to. 🙂 1y

I either love books by this author or find them boring. This one was the latter. ?

The idea behind it was great. The cultural background of the time and the folklore was informative. But the overall story felt like it took forever to progress and then when the "climax" comes it is very underwhelming.

I'll keep reading her books though because some of her previous ones were great.

Hilarious novella! Hendrix uses a lot of satire in his horror, but this novella isn't horror and I laughed out loud so many times. The story is about a failed astronaut trying to rescue a stranded astronaut in space. But the setting is in the Carolinas and the redneck humor surrounding this endeavor is pure comedy gold.

I love Nic Stone. This MG book had some really great ideas and moments, but the premise of the grandma just basically kidnapping the kid just felt wrong to me.

If I think about them just taking a trip together, the book takes on a whole new meaning for me. I loved the way the grandma and grandson connected and how she opened up and shared his family's past. I just couldn't get past the kidnapping. 😕

Dragons were apparently just what I needed this weekend. 😁 I really loved this one. I'll admit, some sections got a little repetitive, but the connections between the dragons and their Captains kept me engaged.

There's also lots of action and battle scenes. I'd love to learn more about the history of the dragons, so I'm excited to continue the series and see what develops.

I was lukewarm on this and wasn‘t planning on continuing the series until I got to the end. Now I need to know. Overall I think I prefer her fairy tale retellings though. #AuthorAMonth2022

ShyBookOwl I had the same experience, although I'm not 100% convinced I'll do the next book (but... I probably will). I also prefer her fairy tales. 2y
willaful I've tried it in both audio and print and just can't get into it. Gimme another romantic fairy tale! 1y

I read/listened to this entire series in two days. Some of the best middle grade books I've ever read.

Thanks for the book @Soubhiville! And for including Jason Reynolds in the #Authoramonth2022 list. Now to read everything he's written.
