I absolutely loved this book. Written in 1993, it is a fascinating look at the homeless who live underground in NYC. Despite some criticism that Toth‘s encounters don‘t check out fact wise (solely based on her geographic descriptions on the different underground locations), I thought it seemed very authentic. If some of it is made up or exaggerated, oh well. It‘s a great read anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️ #newyearwhodis

I bought this book the first time I visited NYC, just over 10 years ago.

As I recall it‘s a difficult but fascinating read about people living in the tunnels beneath the streets - perhaps time for a re-read.....

Ok litsy....I need an answer. Years ago, I want to say the early '90s. I bought a fiction book at a used book store. It had a ton of information about the people who live underground in NYC. The book, if I remember correctly, was a murder mystery or a thriller. Anyone want to give it a guess. I cannot think of it for the life of me. I would love to revisit this read. Help please!

ApoptyGina69 Did you ever watch L & O:Criminal Intent? There was a Goren/Eames ep with this same theme. I tried looking for the name of it bc might lead to a clue about your book, like "based on..." No luck and I've seen it a zillion times in reruns. I will keep trying. 7y

#octphotochallenge #reallifeperson here are a bunch of books for this category. It's of my favorite genres. However, I don't love autobiographies. There isn't enough space to say it all! The Monster of Florence got me so interested in Amanda Knox and I now never want to go to Italy. That poor woman. The Mole People was one of my favorites, until I am in a city and think of it 😳 that's all I have room to say 💔😔
