The Long Quiche Goodbye | Avery Aames

Welcome to the grand opening of Fromagerie Bessette. Or as it's more commonly known by the residents of small-town Providence, Ohio-the Cheese Shop. Proprietor Charlotte Bessette has prepared a delightful sampling of bold Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, delicious tortes of Stilton and Mascarpone, and a taste of Sauvignon Blanc-but someone else has decided to make a little crime of passion the piece de resistance. Right outside the shop Charlotte finds a body, the victim stabbed to death with one of her prized olive-wood handled knives. Watch a Video

Mehso-so

Who knew there were so many cheeses??? 😂

This first in the Cheese Shop mystery was an okay read. There were so many characters, and I found myself getting confused on who was who. It felt a little too long, & one of the characters was just downright nasty (and surprisingly not the victim!). I may read the second in the series at some point to see if the characters do develop better - this did win the Agatha award for first novel, so we‘ll see!

The #CBBC book that I had to read was the fifth book in this series so I decided to start with book number one. It was okay but the grandma character was so funny. My mouth was watery all the time with all those delicious recipes and types of cheese 🧀 😋I‘m intrigued enough to know what is going to happen in the next book. 3 ⭐️

Another cozy mystery. This story is ok simple.Developed in Ohio. A murder was committed in front of the Cheese Shop, who was accused? It will develop gossips, friendships, relations, disputes. As in the majority of this genre you will see the daily activities of this community with funny scenes and of course delicious recipes. I will like to read the 2nd book 3⭐️Thank you to @TK421 who gave me this book 2yrs? ago in a swap after Hurricane María

I am determined to finish this book (spoiler: not really liking it) so I‘ve made myself ice milk tea to fight the temptation to nap. The rain outside isn‘t helping though... #24in48

Foster cat #Chiku is definitely judging me on my #libraryhaul today, especially because she had heard me complain about the number of books I have checked out last night.

Graciouswarriorprincess She is beautiful!😻 6y
wanderinglynn What a cutie! ❤️🐱 6y
MicheleinPhilly Oh I‘d be a failed foster with that one! 😻 6y
BooksAtNight @Graciouswarriorprincess @wanderinglynn Thank you 😘 Chiku knows she‘s adorable and uses that at every opportunity to beg treats 6y
BooksAtNight @MicheleinPhilly I have to admit the temptation is there. She‘s such a cutie and the perfect reading companion that I need to find her a home ASAP before I can‘t let her go 😂 6y

I don‘t think cozy mysteries are for me... This was my book club‘s pick for this month; If it wasn‘t for book club I don‘t think I would have finished it. I felt the characters were rather flat and the author never went deeper than surface level on anything. The characters were very stereotypical and there was just way too much filler. But hey, I tried something new! 😝

Cinfhen I'm worried about making it through a cozy for the #Booked2018 reading challenge 🙄😬 6y
coffeenebula That title though 😂 6y
MatildaBaggins @Cinfhen Not going to lie, I skimmed through a good portion of the second half 😳 6y

Cinfhen That might be how I handle it as well 🙄🤐 6y
Cortg Ugh! I‘m so not a cozy mystery reader, but good for you for trying. That is what I like about book club though, trying new genres. Hopefully you have better “you” reads in the future! 6y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I‘m trying my first cozy mystery soon . . . 🤞 6y

CoveredInRust @Suzze I've been liking them frequently lately. 7y
Suzze Have you read Elaine Viets? After I posted about my niece's plight at the Ft. Lauderdale airport yesterday, she emailed me saying they could stay with her. They were fine, but that was so nice! 7y
