I just read Legend and Lattes featuring a hob, and now I feel like I'm reading about a completely different creature. Hobs fly??? Since when?
I haven't found any online lore stating this. (Yes, I searched about 20 minutes lol) Maybe it's just a creative decision on the authors part. Either way, it's bothering me. Other than that, I'm enjoying this so far!😅

I liked this one, which is unsurprising since I almost always enjoy YA fantasy. I think it plays with certain genre tropes in an interesting way, particularly in the relationships between several of the main characters. The plot is entertaining and propulsive, part coming-of-age, part court intrigue, but what I found more interesting is the characterization, particularly how different character respond differently to ongoing trauma and danger.

Totally enjoyed this reread of the Cruel Prince. Jude is still one of my fav fantasy MC. She is perfectly flawed and I really enjoy the dynamic between her and Maddox.

This series is quite popular, and it is definitely well-written. However, I was not the biggest fan of the first in the series. After reading the synopsis of the second, I've decided to give it a try but for some reason some aspects of the plot were confusing to me and I didn't like some parts of it.

Needed an entertaining easy read as I've been unwell today. Enjoyed this and looking forward to the second book also available on Prime Reading 😊

Fantastic fantasy filled with faeries, betrayals, and complex characters. I loved the world Holly Black created here and am jumping straight into the sequel!

I have to admit I found the beginning very boring until the coronation/betrayal chapters.
After that it did get fun and now I‘m excited to read the next one. I feel like I‘ll like that plot way more than this one.

Woooow, I now understand why this book is a NYT no.1!
The lore is original, and even though I thought the plot was "foreseeable", I still was surprised from time to time :)
I will continue reading the saga.

this book made me love a guy with a tail! i feel like it would be nice to forget everything just so i could read it for the first time again. also there‘s a nice plot at the end.
i need to highlight that scene which has the knife in the neck thing🤭😂

First Half: meh, Jude is hard to fully empathize with initially - Second Half: builds to a freight train of intrigue and action. Jude‘s journey starts to make more sense and builds in I connective tissue. I loved this book but really only kept going because I was intrigued about how she was going to do anything that would lead to a connection between the two fated lovers. I can‘t wait for the next book!

This was a tricksy little faerie tale, with a lot of familiar things and some unfamiliar to keep it interesting. Definitely an enjoyable and immersive read, although I find myself ambivalent about getting on to the next in the series — whether because it didn‘t grab me as much as I originally thought or because it just works as a one off if you ignore the lead-in at the end, I‘m not sure. Still a pick, I think.

Just not the right book for me. My mind couldn‘t connect the human world and the fairy world. Not that I necessarily had to but I wanted to. I just couldn‘t get into this book. I couldn‘t like any of the characters. I‘m VERY impartial about this book.

April was a good reading month (1 bingo! Yay!), and I seem to have kept up pretty well on #aam, #roll100, and #bookspin/#doublespin! Favorite challenge read was, surprisingly enough, the tagged YA politics and fantasy set in a faerie realm. I didn‘t love the formulaic YA-ness of it all, but the resolutions and reveals in the last half were slightly unexpected and therefore interesting. I would read the next in the series, and I didn‘t expect that!

I read this book two weeks ago. Then I read it again, and again, and again. I can‘t express the amount this book has changed my life. The worldbuilding was alluring and dark, and the fantasy elements were so engaging. The book as a whole was just heavenly and gave off an otherworldly yet realistic energy I‘ve never found while reading before. I loved how romance is a subplot and not a main focus. This book reached all my expectations and more.
