Current read. I always like to keep a non-work related book on hand at all times -- usually something from a #scifi or fantasy series that I can read over the course of a year or two. The Expanse series has fit the bill nicely so far. 🚀
May Recap:
This was probably my best reading month ever. Some of these were short audios and graphics, but even still I feel really good about all I finished. Most were pretty good, too. Those on the top row were all exceptional (first four being 5 star reads).
I'm determined to finish this tonight! I've been so happy today. The windows are all open, and I've been enjoying the fresh breeze throughout the day and evening. I've got snacks, tea, a stack of books, and peace of mind. I'm so relaxed it's almost as if I could float away into the atmosphere! I feel so grateful and lucky and happy to be here. 💕📚

I absolutely love these books. The crew of the Rocinante are some of my very favorite characters, and their stories are always tons of fun. I'm torn between wanting to race through the series and wanting to slow down so I don't run out of them too quickly.
I know I have already said this like a billion times, but I absolutely LOVE this series! Full of action, humor, mystery, and great characters, this is one of the best scifi series I have ever read! I'm currently on book four and am just so excited to read the rest of them! Plus, look how fantastic they all look together! 😍💕📚
The temperature really dropped last night so I've been cozying up with this great book today. Lots of tea and blankets to keep me warm! It was 60° three days ago and I took a nice long walk only needing a sweatshirt. Today it snowed. Snowed! 😐 Oh Michigan, I love you but you drive me crazy sometimes! 😁💕
This book is awesome, by the way. I'm not far into it, but its really off to an explosive start! This series is so fantastic! 💕📚🚀
pickIt's hay fever season in Japan and I have been feeling tired and not up to anything. I actually finished this book two weeks ago but couldn't be bothered posting about it until now.
The fourth book did not disappoint! I look forward to jumping into the next adventure.

pickI think these books are actually getting better as the series goes. Stayed up past my bedtime to read the last couple hundred pages. Worth it.
Less than 200 pages to go! Another great installment in the expanse series.
Picked up The Spirit Gate by Kate Elliott only to pretty much instantly discard it. Back to the Roci for a story I know won‘t let me down.

This is my current #crochet blanket progress. I love making giant blankets to curl up in as I read. It's currently five feet long but I want it to be bigger still.

Hiding under #crochet blankets I made. I get the warmth of the blanket and a reminder of the happy times I made it. The only downside is it being way too dark to show a picture of the blanket. Oh well.

Settling in with my book for the evening, although I‘m missing a cup of tea so I may actually have to get off the sofa and make myself one. My cozy den has become wrapping central so I‘m surrounded by gifts, bows and wrapping paper. It‘s very festive 🎄
In keeping with my 2017 theme of starting a new book when I already have several on the go, may I present to you the pictured book. Seeing The Last Jedi has me in the mood for more space opera, and James S.A. Corey‘s books definitely fit the bill. One of my 2018 reading resolutions will be to stop reading so many books at once. But it‘s not 2018 yet, so...

Saturday morning relaxation.
A half-hour on the train going to work, a half-hour at lunch, a half-hour on the train coming home, and maybe if I'm lucky an hour at home after dinner and before bed. It is just not enough when people's lives are at risk. People that I have come to care deeply for. My kingdom for a reading vacation.
pickFrequently when there's a big shift at the end of a book, the following books suffer, but that wasn't the case here. The novel managed to explore parts of the expanded world without losing the things that made this series side enjoyable. I also enjoyed that some of the perspectives were from previous side characters. The interludes from a very different perspective were also really interesting and well written.
Oh. Em. Gee! Just found out that Hachette has re-recorded this book with Jefferson Mays! No more sucky 4th book narrator switcheroo nonsense. Unfortunately, my library only carries the old edition. I might have to get an audible account just for this one! 🥂❤️😱
"Space...Is too damn big." One of the reasons I enjoy reading SciFi books. Space is big and we'll never really get to explore it at any great length, so reading about different worlds that people come up with is fun. It's hard to imagine what it would be like traveling through space, where it can sometimes take months before reaching another colony or trying to communicate with someone when there's a time delay because "space is too damn big."

After a terrible couple days of travel, involving a rerouted plane, a 1.5 hour car ride in awful weather, a flat tire in 25 degree weather, and a parking ticket, I'm so thankful for my kindle for always being there for me.
so-soThis one took me a while to get into, but once I did, I found it to be the perfect mess for these times. Bleak, dark, scary ...and with death slugs. Just like real life!
Up through book 4 read, Season 1 in hand to re-watch, I am prepared! Now I just need February to be here...😊
so-soI love this series, but this book was definitely a weak link despite things finally heating up towards the end. One of my favorite characters does reappear in the last ten pages, but there were some parts that really dragged. Nothing against Erik Davies' narration, but I missed Jefferson Mays.
A person can fail the people they love just by being who they are.
Gotta start this one before the husband finishes Abbadon's Gate. He reads so much faster than me, it's impressive, sexy and infuriating.
