It‘s that time of the year again, the one in which to decide what reading challenges to participate in and what books to choose for each prompt. It‘s almost as good as the reading itself 😍

#ATY2020, Goodreads‘ Around The Year Challenge, is the first I saw and it‘s looking great. It won‘t be the same doing this challenge without @Rachel_nyc 💔but I am tempted to participate again.

merelybookish The planning is the best part! And I'm still thinking about Rachel. I didn't know her well, but the loss of a virtual friend is still a loss. 4y

batsy I've been thinking about Rachel ever since you shared the news, too. I didn't know her well but I enjoyed her posts and her comments in discussion. I still can't wrap my mind around it 😔 4y

Anyone else doing the #aroundtheyearin52books challenge on Goodreads? I have just started my first book for the 2019 challenge, after successfully finishing my 2018 one. Excited to hopefully find many good reads for the different prompts. Would be nice to see ideas here for the different tasks. (Tagging the two other people I know are doing this).

Liz_M I think @BarbaraBB is doing this challenge. I am dabbling in it -- I plan to complete only about half the prompts and not in order or during the right week. 😁 5y

Gezemice Thanks for the tag @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yes, I have been doing this challenge for three years. I like the Goodreads group a lot. I have pretty much dropped other challenges, but I am keeping this one for the company and because the prompts are pretty easy to fill with what I usually already read, with only a few that stretch me, which is what I need right now - I want to do more mood reads and less planning. In short, yes, I am doing this 😊 5y

BarbaraBB I am indeed (thanks @Liz_M !), for the first time! I am trying to follow the weeks. After Washington Black for the first prompt I am now starting the tagged book for the second, a book with one of the five W‘s in its title.

MamaJody I‘m here! This will be my fifth year doing our group‘s challenge, but the first year I‘m not aiming to finish. I‘ve set a goal of twenty prompts since I want to do all big books for it. 5y

Marina_h I'm glad to be back doing the challenge after taking a break last year! I've been part of the group from the very beginning and you know you can't leave 😉 5y

This Around the Year challenge on GR looks fun too! But I also want to participatie in #Pop19 and #Booked2019.... and feel free to read what I feel like. #choiceschoices. Anyone else doing this one? #ATY

alisiakae I‘m now on the fence b/w #pop19 or ATY. I felt there was some repetition and overlap on Popsugar‘s list for 2019, but I also have a lot of books I own that would fit the prompts. Being a co-host, I‘m definitely doing #Booked2019. 😃 Although one of our prompts is on the pop19 list. 😫 5y

Lindy My like to look back on my previous year of reading and match prompts from one of these lists to the books I‘ve already read. I usually only miss on two or three; a good sign that I‘m already reading broadly. 5y

Liz_M I plan all of them 😁 and then pick and choose which prompts I complete, aiming for about half. For #aty, I might make a 6x6 bingo card. 5y

BookishMe I barely got to the 12 countries in #readaroundtheworld although my tally is more than 30 for #LitWorld2018GB. But it's been such a fantastic discovery with books from various continents. I don't think I can think about next year's reading until current plan is completed satisfactorily. ;)) 5y
