We visited Stockholm a few years ago for five days, which was good because the few hours we had on Thursday were not nearly enough! In the morning, we went to the ABBA Museum and in the afternoon we just walked around.

How many books you know can you spot in this Swedish bookstore?

#bookstore #sweden #holiday

Amiable How was the ABBA museum? That‘s on my list of to-dos the next time we go to Sweden! 2mo
thewallflower0707 @Amiable all the museums in Stockholm are very modern and there are lots of fun ways to participate and get creative! On our ABBA Museum Tickets were QR Codes, if we scanned it for example at the Karaoke 🎤 machine they save it for you for 30 days on their website. I also highly recommend the Vasa Museum 🚢, that‘s definitely something you will have never done before! 2mo
thewallflower0707 @Amiable also you can only buy at the museum with card, they don‘t accept cash! In fact we didn‘t need cash once and didn‘t bother changing it because in the Scandinavian nations you can buy even the coffee and the stamps with your credit card/card/Apple Pay. 2mo
Amiable @thewallflower0707 We were in Sweden this past April, but in the south — Malmö and Blekinge. That‘s when we found out we didn‘t need cash. It was strange at first, but then we liked the idea of being cashless! 2mo

Greetings from Sankt Petersburg 🇷🇺, where I was yesterday!
We visited the Catherine Palace (the picture), the Peter-Paul Cathedrale, walked around the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, saw the Isaaks Cathedrale and the Eremitage.
Now my feet hurt!

Today I finally started reading 📖 The Bear and the Nightingale and so far it‘s wonderful.

A Man Called Ove | Fredrik Backman

The books 📚 I packed for our family holiday🏞🏙:

- A Man Called Ove (because Sweden 🇸🇪)
-The Bear 🐻 and the Nightingale (because Russia)
-The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (because traveling 🧳)
-How to be both (just because)

I also have a few other books on my kindle which I haven‘t read it yet, so I should be safe 👌.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really liked the darkness of this book and this terrible sense that something bad is going to happen (which it obviously did). It‘s certainly a weird book but finally in a weird way I like. Now I just need someone to explain if it all means what I think it means??

And wow, that ending.

pigeonsandcrows I, too, was strangely drawn to this book whilst everyone else in my book club strongly disliked it. It looks quite striking in the flowers! 2mo
thewallflower0707 @pigeonsandcrows the cover is so gorgeous!! And I totally understand why some people dislike the book, it‘s certainly not for everyone. 2mo
thewallflower0707 @pigeonsandcrows i was wondering what you think about the ending- does the narrator have some sort of awakening, is she free from the drugs, what will happen now that her friend is dead? 2mo

pigeonsandcrows It's definitely not a book for everyone. I enjoy unlikable narrators, but still cringed at her sometimes. But I thought it was such an interesting book. 2mo
pigeonsandcrows I'm not sure what will happen to her. I felt like the author wasn't really interested in exploring her eventual fate as she was in discussing the process she went through to get there. 2mo
pigeonsandcrows My impression was that she gets off the drugs and "wakes up", maybe not in an entirely pleasant way. I thought the last chapter tied her "awakening " to the kind of new awareness people in the US had after 9/11. 2mo
pigeonsandcrows @thewallflower0707 I just realized I didn't tag and reply to you so I'm not sure you ever saw I responded. Sorry, I'm still quite new to this! 2mo

A picture from inside the Persephone Bookstore at Russel Square! It re-publishes books by female authors, most of them from the 20th Century, who didn‘t receive the attention they deserved. All the books have a grey cover and come with a fitting bookmark.
