Picked this one up for Snow White retelling for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge
This was a horror retelling which I didn‘t realize. It was super dark but the artwork was really good. But I enjoyed the storytelling.
I have not read Gaiman's short story, but I'm definitely intrigued by the synopsis. I see that it's in the Gaiman reader, which is at the top of my holiday wishlist.

New favorite version of Snow White! Neil Gaiman‘s story is fantastic, and Colleen Doran‘s artwork is incredible! It is dark, magical, and erotic, as it tells the Queen‘s side of the story.
This version of Snow White was incredibly dark, beautifully written and drawn, nightmarish in so many ways but I absolutely loved it. A lot of fairy tale retelling go in very samy directions I always think, and this was so original I read it it one sitting. I‘m obsessed with Neil Gaiman‘s mind.

I absolutely loved the artwork in this book. It was just lovely.
The story itself was an interesting take on an old fairy tale. I enjoyed it. Some parts of the narrative seemed a bit unnecessary and didn't really add anything to the story, but whatever.
CW for daughter vampire monster apparently having magic-immobilized her dad and given him bjs and then bitten and drained his blood that way. As well as a fair amount of necrophilia content from the prince. That's what makes me say HECKIN NO KIDS for this book.
This is an intensely disturbing horror story with stunning artwork. 5/5 stars from me. EDIT: EXTREMELY ADULTS ONLY. You'd see why if you opened it to any four pages (honestly had a hard time finding a panel that wasn't NSFW for the pic and CW for very disturbing sexual assaults, incest, etc.) Like I'm all for sex positivity but some of this beats out GoT.😳
