This absurdly wonderful novel makes my top 5 for 2017 releases, without question. It's a dark, romantic, and at times downright hilarious little romp through the lands of faerie and it completely slipped its way into my 🖤. I'd say it's perfect for fans of Holly Black's modern faerie tales, Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely books and Laini Taylor's dreamy prose.

I have a double signed copy of this beautiful story I called "as layered and detailed as a Hieronymus Bosch painting" before deciding that was kind of douchey. (It really is though.) Anyone got a good plan for their Lazlo sticker??? Asking for a neurotic friend.

apparently I never reviewed this on here. It was a fever dream of magic and mayhem and secrets and sisters and magnificent dresses! Major #TheNightCircus vibes and gorgeous prose. I can't wait to buy me a finished copy -- please give this thing gilded end papers or something! It deserves it. I loved it.

I bought this on 11/9, looking desperately for a distraction. It was okay. Hot and heavy new adult romantic fantasy. I found it to be fantasy lite, and the romance felt ... off, at times, due to the super bossy dude. I'd recommend if you're a big fan of the romantic aspects of #SarahJMaas books.

Gotta get me a finished copy of this funny, heartening, emotional, and downright wonderful memoir. I read an op-ed in the times by Lindy and started following her on Twitter in the last month and she's just GREAT. Then I remembered receiving this arc! And oh, I needed this read right now. So, read this. She's awesome. Yay ladies and stuff. #feminism #feministbooks

chosen from #NebulaAward suggested 2017 reading list- So, this book worked for me but I might not recommend it to everyone. The prose is gorgeous but repetitive and heavy handed too. I didn't want to put it down, it felt like slipping into a dream. The Indian folklore elements also worked to give it a fresh and new feeling in this overly saturated sub-genre, & I loved reading a mashup retelling of tales I've not yet read. And yay for a standalone!

...But what about the rest of us? What about the nobodies and the nothings, the invisible girls? We learn to hold our heads as if we wear crowns. We learn to wring magic from the ordinary. That was how you survived when you weren't chosen, when there was no royal blood in your veins. When the world owed you nothing, you demanded something of it anyway.

read my first-ever regency romance...and actually loved it! Just the right amount of depth beneath the humor and heat, it was a real joy to read! Any #VaginalFantasy book club members on this thing?? Also, this is a still from Outlander but I couldn't help but imagine this ridiculously beautiful red dress on that one scene...;)

I am not resigned to the shutting away of loving hearts in the hard ground.
So it is, and so it will be, for so it has been, time out of mind:
Into the darkness they go, the wise and the lovely. Crowned
With lilies & with laurel they go; but I am not resigned.

Lovers & thinkers, into the earth with you.
Be one with the dull, the indiscriminate dust.
A fragment of what you felt, of what you knew,
A formula, a phrase remains,—but the best is lost.
