What a beautiful and sophisticated novel about magic, miracles and something similar to the Spanish inquisition. I fell in love with Luiza and her perseverance while everyone uses her for their own agenda and benefit. I loved the religious theme throughout and the warning about the dangers of a society ruled through fear and oppression. I‘ll be thinking about this one for a long time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I won‘t give too much away since this is our #LMPBC #GroupM book, but I enjoyed this story of Bree finding her magic and figuring out who is really is and exploring her ancestral roots. The King Arthur storyline surprised me so much- I didn‘t think it was necessary but I guess there‘s something there about the Western cannon, colonialism and racism. Will def pick up book 2 after that crazy ending! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

My #TBRtarot pick for April was great! I would have liked it more if it were true and not fiction. But still a good story about sex, drugs & rock n‘ roll! I absolutely loved this Fall of the House of Usher retelling! Our narrator Easton had such an amazing voice I found myself literally laughing out loud at his descriptions. I‘m hoping he‘s back in the next installment! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first #readyourkindle pick for April! This second book in the series wasn‘t as good as first but some truths are finally revealed. We find out a lot about Zylah‘s background as far as what she is. She is trying to come to terms with all the guilt she is carrying around and they are still gathering allies for the upcoming battles. The third book I think is coming soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed the world building in this story about the power of family and sisterhood told through wolves and warring kingdoms. #serieslove2024 The new Holly Black book was pretty good. I wanted Wren‘s POV, but this one was told by Oak so we learn more about his motivations and plans. Lots of attempts to fix things from book 1 and right the wrongs. That super abrupt ending makes me think there‘s going to be another book? ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another #readyourkindle pick and second in the series which I think is only a duology. The story line got wrapped up nicely. Oraya is turning into the Queen she was meant to be and uniting the realms. Raihn is still my new book boyfriend. Not quite as good as the first book but still a pick! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

My #TBRtarot pick this month was the third and last book in this Atlas series. The author said she wrote these as a commentary about the wealthy people in America and how they choose not to help solve some of the worlds greatest problems. However, the ending of the series wasn‘t great. Kind of let down about what happened to our 6 main characters. And I‘m left wondering about what happens to the archive! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of my #readyourkindle picks this month and boy was it a good one! Vampire Hunger Games. Need I say more? And as far as book boyfriends go - I found myself a new one in Raihn. I immediately downloaded book 2 and cannot wait to see how this heart wrenching story plays out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@Rissreads What a generous and thoughtful #missmydad giveaway. This made me immediately think of reading Les Mis in high school with my best friend who passed away recently. After we read it we had to go see the Broadway show about a dozen times. I can‘t see this book without thinking about him. ❤️

I don‘t want to give much away since this is our #LMPBC #GroupM pick, but it was not what I expected. I think I expected a more modern retelling and it read more like actual mythology. #serieslove2024 The third book in this trilogy and new release kept me hooked! I love when the build up to the battle and the battle itself are equally as good and that was true for this book. Corayne and all of her companions are the last hope to save the realm. I loved the focus on some minor characters and of course the introduction to dragons. The ending was completely satisfying. “WITH ME!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I finally finished this Madonna tome- 1,000 pages and tiny print! But wow. It covered every aspect of her life- some stories I knew and some I learned. I feel like I grew up with Madonna and have always loved her fearlessness. I just saw her in concert last year and this chunkster really illustrates her impact on the world. The main issue was having a new Madonna song in my head after each chapter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My #TBRtarot pick this month was an author I never read before. Took me a while to get into the story but then I was hooked. A fierce (and voiceless) FMC trying to kill the enemies that have destroyed her family and her lands. But of course not everything is as it seems. Lots of magic and warring Princes- what‘s not to love? I guess I have to read the rest of the series to see what happens next. This is the story of my life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

#serieslove2024 I thought this newly released third book would be the finale but after that ending, there better be a book 4! I‘m devastated from this series. It‘s too good. I love all of the Persian mythology and folklore. I love the magic. I love Alizeh‘s entire character arch and her attempts to save her people. I might riot if this story is never continued. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow. Just wow. What a rollercoaster ride this third book was. Our girl Bryce trying to save her world and her mate from the asteri any way she can. I loved each character‘s journey and storyline. Can‘t wait to see what Sarah Maas thinks up next. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

#serieslove2024 Still in my dark academia phase and this series is pretty good so far. 6 people with different magical abilities all tasked with protecting the Alexandria library where all knowledge is kept. This was a low pick for me. I love a dark academia story but found this world almost too confusing. Our FMC is very snarky which I loved and enjoyed her storyline of learning to trust others and learn more about her own abilities. The setting was just weird and took away from the story instead of adding to it I think. I will maybe read the next book in the series just to see where it goes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #serieslove2024

I loved this story of revolutions, hidden worlds and magic but told in such a unique way. Now I have the same problem as @kelmardino - do we wait for the new versions of the next books that come out this year? Or do we dive right into the old book 2? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Another beautiful novel by Rebecca Ross. In this sequel to Divine Rivals war has finally come to Oath. The magic in her stories always feels realistic and adds to the story instead of distracting from it. Her stories are tragic, beautiful and the endings are always satisfying. Loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My #TBRtarot pick for this month is not what I typically read but it was a super cute romance. Her brother‘s wedding means she has to spend a week with her brother‘s best friend and of course there are years of history between them. If you like cute romances this one was well written and pretty good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed my #jolabokaflodswap book so much! I was flying to Arizona for the holidays so I read it in one sitting. Now to find the next book in the series while I‘m here. It‘s a school for gifted Fae and creatures. Lots of power hierarchies as it is yet to be determined who will be the new rulers of the realm. We get 2 povs from twin sisters who find themselves thrust into this school and out of the mortal world as their powers awaken. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this dark academia story. Weaves together ideas and commentaries about education, language and colonialism with slight fantasy and magical elements throughout. Our main character Robin was extremely lovable and is just trying to find his place in the world. A rollercoaster of emotions and makes you think more about the atrocities in the world and what we should do about it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
