Wild Is the Witch | Rachel Griffin
post image
Pickpick

Rachel Griffin's writting style is so magical and atmospheric that I find myself forgetting I am actually reading. The magic systems she creates are so unique, which I absolutely love! I love how easily Griffin writes in issues of bisexuality and anxiety in a way that is so openly accepted and natural. The real world needs to hurry up and get on the same page. I also love the way I find myself mourning for character we never get to meet.

The King of Koraha | Maria V. Snyder
post image
Pickpick

This book explored so many new places and I really enjoyed the continued world building. The suspense and adventure was non-stop and the plot twists always kept me guessing!

As usual this was another fun, fast paced story, and a fantastic conclusion the The Archives of the Invisible Sword. If you are a fan of Maria V Snyder's other series yoy will love this trilogy!

Well that was a roller-coaster. The City of Zirdai is book two of Maria V Snyder's Archives of the Invisible Sword trilogy.

Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, BOOM. PLOT TWIST! It is pretty rare for me to be as shocked as I was for some of these twist and turns and it really kept me guessing!

EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE. | JAY. KRISTOFF
post image
Pickpick

I am not a fan of vamps & was apprehensive about picking up EOTV. That still didn't stop the FOMO and I jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else and I am so glad I did!

I found the begging to be a little slow and the writting style a little hard to settle in to. I even put it down for a week or two while I finished a different book, but once I hit a certain point in the story there was no stopping amd it has left me aching for the next book!

The Stolen Kingdom | Jillian Boehme

The Stolen Kingdom follows Maralyn and Alec, one a wine makers daughter with a dangerous secret, the
other the third in line to a throne and unspeakable trove of stolen magic. Everything changes the day
someone throws a sack over Mara's head and whisks her away to unwillingly aid in a coup.
I highly recommend The Stolen Kingdoms to fans of
magic, espionage and low-key enemies to lovers, especially to those who enjoyed The Red Queen or
Ruined.

Emilia and Vittoria have grown up listening to their grandmother's stories of the princes of the underworld. Beliving these stories to be just that Emilia goes about her days working in her family's restaurant, the Sea and Vine. Everything changes when a string of murders lead to their doorstep.
Overall, I truely enjoyed this story and I am dying for book two! If you are looking for a dark and wicked fantasy read, Kingdom of the Wicked is for you!

Watch Over Me | Nina LaCour
post image
Pickpick

This is not your typical ghost story. It is a traumatic story of lonliness and healing and longing to find a place you belong.

While I did find this book slow to begin with it took only one paragraph to break my heart and I soon lost myself in the pages. Nina LaCour's writting style is flawless. There is something just so peaceful and serene about the way the words flowed.

Watch Over Me was earie and hearbreaking and deserves so much love.

Reggie You had me at ghost story and it only took one paragraph to break my heart. Nice review! 3y
flaminglibrary Thank you! It isn't the first paragraph, but one a few chapters in tore my hear to pieces and I knew the rest would be simillar 3y

The Divide Series: War | Magdalene Asante
post image
Mehso-so

Although I found it hard to get into this book I found it to be an interesting and unique story. The world building and character development was impressive for a debut author, though I did struggle to connect with any of the characters. I loved reading about the cultural differences as well as the history of the kingdoms. I quite enjoyed the storyline and see a lot of potential for this series in the future.

Ignite the Sun | Hanna Howard
post image
Mehso-so

Once upon a time there was something called the sun…

Siria longs to please her distant parents and to be chosen by Queen Iyzabel and move to the Royal City. Siria's whole life is thrown upside down during the choosing ball when unimaginable truths come to light.

Almost straight away we were thrown into the action and the pace never seemed to slow. The chapters were short and I found myself breezing through the pages.

With new forces gathering, more mysterious than anyone could have predicted and an old enemy, stronger than ever, Nor is faced with imposible choices to save those she loves and a kingdom at war.

This book was the perfect end to an amazing duology. I enjoyed every second of it and found myself flying through the pages. Just like book one, Kingdom of Sea and Stone was fast passed, suspenseful and continued to blow me away with the world building.

"Beware the lionfish, my dear, beware the fish that is made of stone. Beware sweet nothings in your ear, and the heart as hollow as bone."

Crown of Coral and Pearl was a breath of fresh air, book 1 in a new duology unlike any other YA fantasy.
I loved every second of it especially the world building and character relationships.

I recommend this to every single YA fantasy reader, especially those that are fans of Red Queen!

Witches vs the holy church. An arranged marriage. A child born to die. A forbidden love.

I loved this book! It was light, witty and fun. It has been a long time since I last read a book about witches and I want more! I can‘t wait for book two!

The writing was amazing and All of the characters were perfect and I loved how Lou and Reid helped open each other‘s eyes to the vastly different worlds they have grown up in while helping each other grow.

Saknicole Yes, yes indeed! Are you excited for 🩸& 🍯 ? 4y

I loved the concept of this story line and it came with some great action scenes that kept me guessing, however; the authors writting style erked me. It was poorly executed and quite amateurish. The world building was limited while minor scenes were overly descriptive with unnecessary explanations
I felt like there was little depth and development to the characters and I even found them quite childish and annoying at times

From the second I saw this beautiful cover I new I needed it in my life!

It was fun, witty and full of twists and turns.

While I did enjoy the writting style I found myself getting lost with each jump through time. It covered way too much story for one novel and made it so difficult to keep track of each character. I feel like I never really got the chance to get to know any of the characters stoping me from forming any sort of bond.
