This one took me forever to read, but man, it was so worth the time investment. Just a really incredible story about two cousins who get famous in the comic book industry during the Golden Age, but it‘s also so much more than that.

Hopefully I can get back on track with life now. (Also major apologies to @Mynameisacolour for taking forever to write you back. I promise I haven‘t forgotten you!!)

Pretty fun reading a true crime book set in the area where you‘re living! I interviewed Ron Franscell last week and he‘s always a delight to talk to. Really bananas, yet quick, read.

Really enjoyed this one. I liked the style of its writing, with it being told as an oral history of the band. I love Jenkins Reid‘s imagery. This was a super fast, fun read and a nice palette cleanser after Lonesome Dove.

It‘s like some of us are chasing after our nightmares the way other people chase dreams.

I used to care when men called me difficult. I really did. Then I stopped. This way is better.

I think you have to have faith in people before they earn it. Otherwise it‘s not faith, right?

I finished Lonesome Dove tonight after a month of reading and I feel like I climbed Mount Everest

Do your best, if you happen to love a fool. You‘ll have my sympathy. Some folks will preach that it‘s a woman‘s duty never to quit, once you make a bond with a man. I say that‘s folly. A bond has to work two ways. If a man don‘t hold up his end, there comes a time to quit.

I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live.

If you want one thing too much it‘s likely to be a disappointment. The healthy way is to learn to like the everyday things

Was starting my book club pick and found this on the inside!

It was comforting to know that nothing stayed the same for too long, that each day was a new opportunity for reinvention. A person could be transformed by a fresh wardrobe or a different nickname

This was what could happen in a city like this. A woman could come from nowhere and become a new person. A woman could be arranged like a bouquet of fake flowers, bent this way and that, scrutinized from a distance, rearranged.

At times, this book was incredibly difficult to stomach. And yet, I kept reading. Something about it was really compelling. I‘m surprised at how much I liked it by the end. It‘s much more intense and violent and disturbing than the movie though.

Trying to get out of my book slump with this title I‘ve had on my bookshelf for more than a year.

Started this last night and am honestly surprised how quickly I got sucked into it.

It took me forever and a day to read, but I‘m finally done with Gone With the Wind! What a fantastic, sweeping epic. Loved it.

Sometimes you need a salacious story to dive into.

About 100 pages in and loving it! Such a beautifully written story of a family in the Congo in the 1960s.

My friend had been prodding me for probably a year to read the first book in the series. I kept putting it off, because it really didn‘t seem like my sort of read.

Flash forward to this summer, where I‘ve been reading A TON of Asian literature and I continued to put this off. I was only about 15 percent done when I saw the movie. But I really enjoyed this. It‘s a lot of fun and the characters are well-developed.

Saw the movie on Friday! I‘m only like a quarter of the way done, but this is a really fun story.

I didn‘t know what to expect when starting this book, but it‘s honestly SO enjoyable. Bourdain has a talent for writing, and I can just hear him in my head while reading this. We lost a good one this year. #kitchenconfidential #anthonybourdain
